Thanks...I will check it out
Hey
I ain't going, but it sounds like you guys are going to have a great time....

I couldn't talk Sifab into letting me take his 12 HP water cooled Morini, lol
and my Q Matic killer isn't finished yet.

However there will be a race right here in SoCal very soon. Why should those
guys in Tucson have all the fun?

Take lots of pics and gimme a report, have fun!

LMAO no not really sponsored by Jack Daniels.... we just have the flags and yes we will be drunk on Fri.. NOT on Sat and definitely NOT racing drunk... I hope no one else is either....we run on JACK, NOT our bikes that would be wasting good Jack...LOL
Well, there is big difference between drunk and relaxed.

I'm an old laid back relaxed guy on a laid back comfortable ride.

But 'Bad MoJo' of course had a setback.
Mechanically shes sound and set, but I was messing with some alternative shift tables for quiet residential riding the other day and the NuVinci Dev Kit Controller decided it didn't want to talk to my computer any more so I couldn't re-program her.

Dave at NuVinci got the ball rolling for me to get a new controller over-night, and I coughed up $100 for it today, but still no word if it made it out today.

The sad part about $100 is it was going to some new shoes for her, 2.25" HookWorm rear tire and maybe a 2" front.

Have you guys seen these bike shoes?

Those HookWorm's feel like lizards feet, and the grippers go all the way around the sidewall.

The 1.95" Kenda all weather tires on my bike are dandy for straight riding, but having hundreds of miles on them and the new power the bike has now they have already proved twice this year biting people they won't hold a corner.

I'd just pull those shoes off and put them on my bike for the race but I want to get Dustin's manual NuVinci full suspension done in time to take too.

Tough 'finish this up for me' full suspension build.
The top of the line parts he bought and tried to install don't play together well on that frame.

And ya, that is everything for a Jackshafted Cadillac with a manual NuVinci and black 2010 SkyHawk motor in the boxes behind it.
That is next weeks first project ;-}

scotto, if you're racing the tandem, how do you decide who wins?

i mean for the sake of argument here, if you and your buddy are on the tandem, and you guys cross the finish line, does the guy in front get first place and the guy in back get second?

i can see how you'd say it's a joint effort, there's no "i" in team, "we" won, etc, but who gets to keep the trophy? and do you expect to get two trophies? first and second?

and when you're out trying to impress the ladies, do you say, "yeah, we won the glorified moped race as a team, we're the fastest two guys on one bike ever..."

i mean, would the guy in back get jealous, and be all, "dude, you couldn'ta done it without me, and the guy in front is thinkin' " whatever, if you weren't there i woulda been a lot lighter and coulda gone faster..."

these are the kind of dilemnas that keep me awake at night...

Weather is looking good for the race. We've been having some fierce wind here in NM lately, but should only be normally breezy sat eve.

Can't wait for it now, after all winter waiting for another crack at the main event.

Well Baird, those are some very good questions and here's the way that I see it and I will be the pilot, in front and in control (hopefully) and Pat will be the stoker, in back and out of control (in more ways than one).

I asked him if he wanted to pilot the beast and he thought it was best if I did. So while I may have the skills for the task at hand, he has the huevos to risk his life depending on those skills. With that in mind....

If this were a horse race and we crossed the finish line first, technically speaking I would be first and Pat would be second......but we're riding the same horse.

So the way I see it and in all honesty, it has been a joint effort and will be an equal win. The trophy would go up in the shop for both too enjoy and it would be a first place win regardless. I wouldn't have a problem sharing !st place or any other for that matter.

If it was a tandem surfing contest, I would put Pat in control and I think he would share a win in the same way. The chicks will dig us equally anyway, being winners and all.

Now when it comes to separate heat races, him against me on our own bikes, guess what? I will stop at nothing to spank the pants off of everyone in my class, including Pat! Sorry bud.....you gotta draw the line somewhere....

EDIT: the tandem will be #69 at Death Race

i didn't expect a semi serious answer...:)

but, if i throw you an elbow in the corner and you both end up in the dirt, is that two penalties or just one?

do you guys have just one number plate? or two?

what if someone crosses the finish line inbetween you two? is that a second place? and you get a first and and your partner gets third?

maybe you could powerslide across the finish line, that way you'll tie yourselves.

i got a million of 'em...

Two guys on a tandem with the # 69 plate?
I am glad that you mentioned that chicks will dig you
cause that spank reference was starting to make this all
sound kinda ??? not that there is anything wrong with that LOL

I know you guys gonna have a blast, my money is on the SoCal riders.

That really is kinda funny 'cause I knew if I put that # on the tandem, people might think that.....and so I did laff Pat and I are really good friends, but far from ???, our GF's would kill us! And please know that i'm only joking, and a little curious when I was thinking about any connotation of BiMoPed.....:D

It's all good bro, we'll miss ya and I think from San Diego to Santa Barbara and beyond......SoCal will represent very well!

Cheers!
