We are going to have race numbers this year. Not wanting to make too big a sail on my handlebars, I have made a 6" number plate with 4" bold numbers. It looks readable enough to me at 30 feet away standing still.

Good enough? or should I make the numbers bigger? Looking at moto GP bikes their numbers are bigger, but they are going by the finish line at 150 mph. I'll be doing about 40.

Important.....The time has been changed

Due to unseen circumstances MHC has to push back Death Race 2011 to start time of 5pm

Death Race will be under the lights and we can run all night long

**Bikes will not be allowed to enter the pits until 5pm
I think night racing with the track all to ourselves would be killer.

Racing and running under the lights all night would be absolutely awsome! I'm very jealous of the guys who will get to go do this... .boogy1a

Unfortunately it means that I'm out for this one, because I have to be back at work Monday monring and both I and my wife aren't willing to make a 17-hour drive home on Sunday after staying out having fun all hours Saturday night. :(

Guess this is a sign that I'm not as young as I used to be...

I'll be looking for news of a fall race this year and will do everything I can to make that one. I hope everyone has fun with this race! POST SOME VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE!!!!!! :p

Hopefully we can mount our number on both sides in lieu of a number in front. These numbers have a once use purpose and a paper plate might flop back with the front mount.

Dave, i've got a question about the lights at the track (if you've ever been there at night.)

wondering how good they are, or if there's a lot of dark spots.

just thinking about hooking up better lights on my bike, but i don't want to if i don't have to.

I have been there at night but never on the track. MHC has many night events all year long.

If you go to MHC site and click on Gallery, I believe there is a few night photos of the track. They have night Kart race's and if those guys can do 100mph on there Karts I am sure we will be just fine on our bicycles.
