Re: what did you do to your motor bike today?

I am lovin' this weekend. Some strange warp in time has been allowing me to get caught up on work around the house, so I've had extra time to just ride around with the kids, ride around by myself, ride down to the store, ride for no reason, etc. And I feel better about it with the new batteries I put in the lighting system.

I'm just one happy camper.dnut.wee.dance1

It's a 6 volt lantern battery LED flashlight (3 leds in molded plastic shiny reflector. It's really easy to change the battery too.

I mounted it with a $1 U-bolt over some electrical tape on the handle bar. It stays put and works well enough.

You can also mount it to a cheap front rack with a single bolt and wingnut. It weighs a couple pounds, but runs a lot longer than the old 6volt gas bulb lights.

Brilliant! A 9 volt lamp puts out a beam!

Great idea, uh, how do you mount it?

Not to smart on navigating these web pages, BUT... I did screw up a fresh frame (coaster brakes), HS engine (sitting in my garage), I can figure most. I just would like 2 request some pointers. I'm down w/40/MPH, did it on my 2 stroke. Short spoke, run it rich... I'm looking 4 fresh w/4/stroke, less tighting...

Re: what did you do to your motor bike today?

Hi guys, technically it was Saturday but we (CTripps and I) took the trailer to the Grocery store again. Used a different route than the last time. The first trip did not take into consideration the many stops needed for lights and short but steep inclines. The trailer on my bike since it's geared for it, loaded is way different than unloaded let alone without it (the trailer) entirely. Needless to say it's a very steep learning curve. The B***h bit me.
We were taking a different route home lot less traffic and mostly flat when we pulled into a parking lot to get onto a less steep way home and I was startled by the double speed bump in the entrance and didn't take the exit wide enough. Tipped over the engine wailing away and the muffler got me on the inside of my calf.
Pretty bad burn but I'll know better next time.

Re: what did you do to your motor bike today?

yea burning yourself is no fun sorry to hear that

i have quite a few from things (mostly welding) and even the worst one on my arm from a hot 3inch wide plate i was useing as a ground healed over but one of the most painfull heals was my road rash from my crash 2 months ago it covered about 1/3 of my calf and it was worse than the 14 stitches in my face(6 inside 8 outside) i have a scar to remind myself of the person who ran me off the road (then didnt stop) all im saying is safety is important with M.A.B.'s

but feel better soon and maybe make a heat shield just so it dosent happen again thats how i do things if i get hurt by something i try to prevent it from happening again or at least lower the risk

on another note today i just went on a quick blast around on my bike to have a little release it keeps me from loosing my mind completely :)

Sorry to hear that you got burned, Harley!
I have never understood the need for double speed bumps. They always seem like overkill to me and this time they definitely were a safety hazard for you.
Get well soon, and try to get some silvadene cream for your leg. That stuff is awesome!

Re: what did you do to your motor bike today?

Silvadene is good stuff. That's what I used when I was dumb enough to ride wearing shorts, no socks, and left my shoe laces hanging out (I usually tuck my laces into my shoe).
One of my laces wrapped around the pedal somehow and I tried to jerk it free while I was still coasting downhill. I kicked forward and, in the process, laid my leg right on the muffler. That's no fun.

Re: what did you do to your motor bike today?

One rider on this forum was hit while riding his motorized bicycle through a parking lot, by a speeding car driver. I like speed bumps. The extra tall speed bumps are best, because they rip the guts out of those stupid low-rider trucks.

Most speed bumps here have small gaps for motorcycle wheels and for rain water flow.

Re: what did you do to your motor bike today?

I bet you can. It is sold by a lot of different names. Silver Sulfadiazene (burn cream treatment, a thick white paste) worked for me when I burned my leg on a go-kart. The clutch locked up when I got on it, and the cart took off, dragging me by my foot and burning my thigh on the cooling fins.

I have to totally agree with you on the need for speed bumps, but the double ones that are only a couple of feet apart are overkill and have caused problems for me in the past. Motorcycles hate them...

I fly over those without thinking about it on my Boxer bike sometimes. Don't need to terrorize a neighbor hood lol. That is why they put them there. I remember on my hard tailed bike never like those things.

Re: what did you do to your motor bike today?

That's awesome. My wife is always mad because I won't fly on airplanes and won't leave the country for vacation. Maybe we should visit the US Virgin Islands. I don't know much about it. You can send me any information you want to.
