Lurker you are right, that camera quality is awful. Doesnt matter though, thats still an awesome video. Man that bike makes our bikes sound like toys. Congrats on a great build. Cant wait to see a high quality video though.

Hey Lurker, did you put HP connecting rods with automotive type big end bearings in the engine or are you using the stock ones still? The original connecting rod in my Greyhound engine had no bearing or bushing. The aluminum connecting rod was just riding on the iron crank shaft. I'm sure for it's intended purpose it was good enough to just have a polished aluminum bearing surface on the crank but I'm kind of glad I have the performance rods with the steel bearing in the rod. For all I know the stock rods in your engine already have steel bearing inserts. I just don't want to see you riding and something seizing up on you causing a crash. I know they sell performance con rods for your engine. I'm thinking if they offer them, why do they offer them?

Thanks again, I'm glad to see that this bike can bringing joy and inspiration to others. When I was building it I had hopes of it doing that.

As of right now the engine is all stock with the exception of a billet filter adapter. Eventually I would like to do a billet flywheel, a cam, and connecting rods. Not for performance but reliability. I'm not too worried about it because in that video I was only giving it about 1/2 throttle if that. This engine at 1/4 throttle has much power or more than a gx200 at full throttle.

I'm convince that this bike will scoot right along at about 50mph without much throttle at all, so I have no fear of over revving it.

Don't Trip !! we're all motor heads and I for one like the fact that we are all evolving(along with the bikes) into bigger, faster and better bikes, I don't know but sounds like when you say SORRY! you may not be posting anything else?? I have been doing it watching and soaking this up like a spounge. Its not what you built but more HOW YOU BUILT IT. And we all needed to know and learn from it.

I have been asked this question many times already by friends and fellow bike enthusiasts and I'm not sure I would ever get back what I have invested. I have at least 3k into the bike and some where around 1500hrs. The past 11 months have been dedicated to nothing but this bike.

Some of the people I have talked to said that 8-10k would be a fair price for a bike like this that was street legal, other say around 15k.
Personally I am my own worst critic I see nothing but flaws and things I should have done better, but that comes with the territory. I don't think I could come up with a fair price for some thing I have such a passion about.

HATS OFF to ya lurker.That is by far the best build yet!! There are alot or great builders out here, but yours sets the bar(ELITE) That thing is as good as it gets. if you ever sell it it no amount will be enough! great job

The bike is gorgeous. Basically, you just crossed a threshold that motorized bicycle makers crossed about 110 years ago. It's inevitable that some of us will cross over from an engine assisted bicycle to a motorcycle with vestigal pedals or no pedals at all. It's a logical progression. I have no idea what the bike weighs, but even if it had a functional pedal drive system, can you really see yourself ever pedaling it anyway ?

I say it stands on it own merits and the vision of it's builder. Nice job !

Anything is worth what a buyer is willing to pay. A good answer would be "priceless". You have a bike that can be passed down as a family heirloom for generations. Time to enjoy it now :)

I have been busy trying to get my self moved into my new apartment the past few weeks and haven't had much down time. However I though I would do a quick update.

I took the bike to a motorcycle show at a Harley dealer a few weeks ago and got a "ho hum" response from the crowd. I find that Harley folks can be a bit snobby about their bikes. However I did manage to take home 3rd place in the non-Harley class. I was up against the Orange County Choppers style bikes.

Every Thursday they have a bike gathering down the street from my house and I took the bike there and got a fantastic response. When I pulled in a crowd immediately surround me and I could hardly get of my bike. I took a seat within earshot of my bike an just observed the crowd. At one point I had 20 people around the bike inspecting it and guessing at what it was. One of the guy spent about 45min inspecting it. Only one person realized it was a tribute bike. Most though it was German or some other european bike.
