Moving my two SLA batteries from the rear rack to the frame triangle and it is a very tight fit. My battery box will be a trimmed 7.62mm ammo can.
I can mount the batteries parallel or in an L shape as shown in the pics. Any thoughts on which will work better? It's going to be a PITA either way. I need to be able to remove them easily at my office for charging.

K11 - Those saddle bags in the link are spaceous and look great, but are 7" wide. Think about maneuvering and parking your motorbike with an extra 14" of width before ordering.
I occasionally see hard bags made for motor scooters on EBAY that are only about 4" wide (Wide enough to hold SLA batteries). They may work better unless your really need that storage capacity.

you know where to put your motorized bicycles batteries is one of the hardest things, I have so many ideas. some day I will have the perfect solution, I really like easyriders way, bike has a shelf in frame that is made for a motor but works great for a battery to

I don't think they are too wide. About the same as my rear basket is. But I might go with these instead http://www.ebay.com/itm/360686561393?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

My battery box is more of a battery rack now. Two bottle mount bolts support the bottom and it is tethered to the seat tube with a zip tie. Two sleeping bag straps have been added to to support the front and prevent the front battery from absconding.
Once I repair the wiring harness, I'll be ready to ride again. I'll paint the box when the weather warms up a bit.

Positive wire pulled loose from my charging socket. My SLA batteries were really depleted from a ride so they needed to be charged pronto.
-I'm not good at soldiering, so I clamped the positive wire to the charging socket with a document clip until charging was complete.
-After charging, I finally fixed the problem with a soldiering iron but it wasn't pretty.

i can't solder well either, i go to a friend that is good and it gives him a good laugh and he fixes it. worth being laughed at to make sure it is done properly, 48v is enough to kill ya so i don't take chances

The tough riding I'd been doing off road, or should it be called, Off Highway Vehicle legal road has caused a split in the drive sheave. Amazing the belt still continued to work but was half way around splitting off completely one side of the v-belt groove.

I split the zinc/aluminum cast metal drive pulley I attached to the rear wheel spokes of my motor bike. So since it is not available since I last recall during the 1970's the same kind of pulley with spoke arms and made of steel, I went to get a Whizzer sheave clone from Ebay.

It has some rough edges on the thread clamps and also the seam in the press sheave, but looks like rather than return it should be easy enough a fix.

I'm just going to see that the seller has to say, as it is return shipping cost of buyer even when it is defect or workmanship. It is the only thing available, but looks like a good deal even with this happening.

A new heavy duty wheel with 12 gauge spokes is on the way to me and will have it back and running again soon with a new belt for the larger sheave diameter.

MT

PS: I think the threads on the sheave clamps are akin to Stover Nuts. All Metal Locking Nut that deform a portion of the threads intentionally. No instructions mention this, but this is probably the case. The seller did not mention this as was probably unaware of what he was looking at of the pictures I took that I sent him. Without my request I have been sent additional hardware and expect it to be the same.

I got magura brake caliper and bleeding kit in today. I'll be cutting my hydro brake lines shorter and replacing the broken brake caliper. Hopefully not too much headache in the rebuild. I'm going back to 203mm rotor up front and will be installing the 255 rotor on the rear.

And had a support bar welded & installed for my battery rack. I might try to use my 20ah battery someday but for now I'll use the 15ah one...
