I'm pretty disappointed in the motorbicycling community. Some of your bikes look hard core, but I guess the soft pudgy guy on the seat needs some "tuning."

I guess you guys just like to play dress up on the weekends...

End of Rant

The weather did clear up, and it could have been a fun event under the lights. Not a single sponsor showed up, WTH??

The track was fun and those banked turns will make for some interesting passing scenerios. I wrecked on the big hairpin right after the pits, I just put the power on too soon and the rear slid out. I also low sided where Dave31 went down, same scenerio, too much power too early. I think I bruised my tailbone here, I will have to look into a spine protector. It's actually nice wrecking in the rain, everything just slides.

My bike was geared pretty well for the track, I was edging 40 mph on the back straight before big Monza . I also recorded some laps and was avg. 25 mph around the track with 1:08 best lap. The Pirrelis do pretty well in the rain. Chickenlegging around the track was interesting because you would put your foot down on the tarmac and it would just slide like on ice and then you'd hit a puddle and your foot would actually hydroplane through it.

Healing vibes Dave, sometimes dislocations are worse than breaks, I was gearing up right when you went down, and I was looking forward to chasing you guys around the track. One thing you have to admit about the small, low bikes is that the distance you have to fall in a wreck is greatly diminished with the small bikes. If you think of it as a lever, the impact you are absorbing when you hit the pavement is exponentially greater the higher you ride. Just something to think about...

Like they say ‘till he*l freeze over’, it wouldn't freeze, so the best that they can do is rain and be very cold.

Dave, I hope your trip home wasn’t to terrible and we hope for a speedy recovery.

It rained for the most part of the day with moments of sprinkling, the track was soaked, I didn’t want to push it to see how slippery it was, but I took more laps than I was originally going to. Something about smelling the castor in the air gets in your veins and if you have a bike your going to ride it no matter what the condition. I look forward to taking laps when it’s dry.

It was great to see the few that showed up and took laps. We’ll see you at the next one, rain or shine -magrider-

the middle shot is like an awesome art photo. like some cool vintage oil ad. I'd be using that as a profile pic if it was me on that thing!
Thanks dogtown. Anybody who wants these pictures as their profile pictures use ok with me, I don't mind. Those pictures that I just put up are from my cell phone. It's kinda hard taking the pictures in the rain because I don't want to screw up my phone and I tried my best.
I took more pictures with my camera but they didn't come our as clear, when I have the time today ill post those pictures up too.

Yep, real pain and certainly the collector of 'When the pain is on yourself award.' Everybody searched the office, corner crash, and area for your wallet before splitting. Got cha' in my prayers.

Sorry to desert you Etard. It was snowing as I crossed over the Grapevine, could've closed within the hour. I have a tax appointment Mon and a mid-term Mon nite. Dang, sure cleared nice right before sunset. We had an opening to really run 'em.

"What? Like in Supercross and the likes, "rain or shine". Like Baird said....the race will go on. Are we a bunch of fair weather riders or what? This ain't Antarctica boys.....put on yer gumboots and RACE!"

Scotto, the Patriot, sniffles and defaults, Sparky chalks up a win!
(Hey, take care Scotto and see you at Grange)

The track has potential, banked corners, is compellingly tighter, purrrfectly exciting for our slim lo' profile racers.

they tell me I was the "first" pusher to show up! AND I rode my bike to the track (in the rain) and had a few laps on the track. the trailer tracked perfectly, and may have hit 20mph! lol Ahhh, the inspiration....

Wow! You guys are badass, crashing (racing) in the rain. I almost came out just to watch. Baird, I have some cash for you in support of the race. I'll catch you when I can.

What, you mean you didn't just do the Mel Gibson "smash it into a post" relocation thing?

:)

Glad to hear you are well and home.

Nope. No racing for me. Racing is dangerous - :)

Heal up, Dave.
It's been interesting keeping up with this event thousands of miles away.
Baird, it may not have turned out the way you had wanted with the rain messing things up, but it sounds to me like the Bairdco racing series is off to a good start with a lot of support. It will just keep getting better.
Thanks for sharing, you guys.

Dave, glad to hear you made it home and you're not too banged up. you had me worried there for a little while...

i said it before, but again, i really wanna thank you and alex for making the trip, even it was just to ride in the rain with 5 other people. i appreciate the support you've given me since day one.
