Mr Tomar meet Mr Clone, not a bolt on but with a little work it will go on.
 
That is gonna be nice set up ! Suweet! Looking forward to how you get it working. Got a friend looking into one of these clones.

Nice Andy.....NICE! You are quite the perfectionist and that's a great thing.

Can't wait to see it finished (as are you I'm sure)! Nice beef on that front motor mount.

Thanks scotto, I got it all back together on my lunch break . I started it because I wanted to see where it grabbed at. It grabbed at 9600. Ill take it for a test ride tomorrow .

I just took the bike for a test ride with the new clutch , All I can say is that this thing is awesome. It is way more ride able then the three shoe clutch , and it hits hard when on the pipe . All and all I am more then pleased with this motor set up so far . And it runs like a two stroke should run with that kick in the butt pull. I need to play with the jetting still feels a little lean on top most likely because of the colder weather .
 
I got a chance to see and hear the bike today.... It is by far one of the best builds I have seen. So many custom parts on this bike it's hard to mention all of them. Nice disk on front and back. Sounds just like a dirt bike... Great job Andy
 
May I ask what you needed to modify to mount the Tomar clutch? I'm building a clone OCC and will prolly need a clutch eventually if the three shoe is as bad as you guys say.

It doesn't take much , On mine i had to take a little off the primary gear and the gear on the clutch hub . On mine the primary gear wasn't true and rubbed the clutch hub . And just had to take a little off the clutch gear to get my end play . Each motor may be different on what you have to do to make it work .
 
Nice build Andy, I cant wait to see it in person. Looks like the mid class is shaping up to be a fun and great class to race in. (If it's in the mid class)
 
I was riding this bike today and the muffler fell off . Boy was I surprised how much the little muffler i made quiets the exhaust down. the bike needs to be geared higher for sure I ordered a bigger counter sprocket today . The bike is quick and pulls hard as it is but I need to keep the motor in a lower rpm where the power is . I have spun it over 12,000 rpm but there is nothing there. I would say this motor pulls well just past 10,000 rpm the motor is in the power band at about 8,500 to 9.800 that's where it pulls the hardest. so far i am happy with the way it runs and how fast it is.
 
I got my new counter shaft sprocket today from KTM . so far every Ktm part I have bought for this motor has fit . Slapped the sprocket on it and took it for a spin . So far I like the gearing as it is now . The motor still pulls pretty hard but doesn't run through the power band like it was . It will still get up into the high revs but not as quick as it was . I am going to try the gearing out at the next race hopefully it works well for me . This bike is pretty much done now just a few tweaks here and there to go . I need to finish up my rebuild of my china race bike motor now . I have all the new parts sitting waiting to go .
 
I have been trying to figure out a easy way to mount a pedal side chain tensioner on two of my bikes . I first started to machine one out of aluminum but after messing with that for awhile I scraped that idea. I didn't really want one bolted to the frame next to the wheel anyway plus I am a instant gratification kind of dude and it was taking to long lol . So I grabbed some aluminum and some cardboard and drew out a pattern . it took me a couple of trys but I got a shape that worked cut it out of aluminum bent it here and there and presto a cool little chain tensioner . I made two and had them mounted in about a hour .
