I wear a DOT motorcycle helmet, FOX chest protector, work boots, knee/shin guards, elbow/forearm guards and dirt bike gloves, and long pants. My backpack should also protect my back.

i just got a helmet due to what i seen and read on here i will only be going 20-25 mph and i look a prat with it on but safety first a prat is better than dead.

Yesterday I said a helmet was important. Today I wrecked on my gas-bike. Not bad, didn't get hurt- luckily.

I wore my bike helmet when using my motor bike doing trails for offroading the BLM park lands during the weekend. I first used a friends Yamaha 125 4 stroke dirt bike and used the helmet he had which covers also nose and chin.

The goggles were on too and were a good thing as low hanging branches on your faces are not so good.

When I went out using my home made offroading Briggs bike I had just the bike helmet, I had to duck my head down and then look up quick to keep on track.

Got a brain bucket today, DOT and everything. It is possible that I exercised the throttle slightly more than normal...
I intend to wear it every time I ride.;)

Photographic evidence that I am no longer an idiot;

Along with my full face, I've started wearing knee pads on days where I want to explore the limits, knees are precious!

If I am riding up and down the street to tune the bike I dont wear one, but if i plan to go further i put one on.

Catastrophic handlebar failure coming out of my driveway, BEFORE I even got CLOSE to the street. Went down HARD. I like my helmet. This was a while back. but even with the helmet I had a headach for a couple days.SO, as you can see, you dont have to be on the road to bump yer noggin hard enough to do damage.
fatdaddy.

Been wearing helmets for so long that I just don't feel right without having one on. And you wanna know what looks stupid? Trying to unlace the helmet you don't have on when you're done riding. And yes, I've tried to do this.

LOL, FMB! 2 funny. (thought I was the only one)

Worst motorized bicycle epic fail, face plant I have had was a few doors down from my house.

I have got in the habit of putting one on if I even test start a 2 wheeled any thing. 2 easy to say "it'll be OK. Only a quick ride"

I have a google notification for any news story with the words "motorized bicycle" Every single fatality I have seen, the MBer was not wearing a helmet.

Not exaggerating. Try it. http://www.google.com/alerts Gotta warn ya. Gets pretty depressing and always makes me wonder if it is one of ours who all of a sudden just stops posting here.

I believe it Dan. I recently moved to a "no-helmet law" state and there's probably at least one motorcyclist fatality every 2-3 weeks (w/ the same sad "the deceased was not wearing a helmet" comment in the newspaper report. Don't think I've seen one yet where the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

Most of the motorcycle/scooter/bicycle/motorized bicycle riders here don't wear a helmet and it just makes me cringe every time one goes by. Still haven't gotten used to it...

I always wear one. I wear a skate boarder type bicycle helmet. I don't exceed 25mph much.
If I died because I wasn't wearing a helmet, my wife would kill me.

This summer i was on 100 mile river trip with my Dagger Mumba from Drayton Valley to Edmonton, ( Almost died twice ) on the third day, i come to a bridge just begging for it to be the Devon bride. I come trudging up the bank under the bridge.
Well, there was a group of dudes on harleys all wearing black helmets. I glanced at them, and went up to see what bridge. Comming back down my heart sank and i was worried cause - was not the Devon Bridge.
It was just then when the bikers started laughing , fired up there harleys, and drove away.
Now when i think about it, i realize that i was wearing a white helmet, and they were all wearing black ones.
I remember a hit song called " How Far is Heaven." For me it is how far is Devon.
Anyway i am a survivor of a double cracked skull and permanent brain damage, full front brain contusion, my nose dripped brain fluid for 3 days.
I always wear my helmet, bike and river. The river is a dangerous place to play.
