I picked up a throttle yesterday and hooked it up along with the stem choke lever. ( I need to get some tighter springs for both) Here is a pic of choke

I received and installed the sheave on the rear wheel. New return springs on the choke and throttle. Put the bike together to check out the lines. Waiting for the EZ to arrive so the mounts can be welded in. After that a couple warm days to paint and put everything back together. (air in tires also)

Cool chain! Looking great. I like the idea of the choke cable though I'm not the biggest fan of your throttle setup (it's not mine ;) ) I can't wait to see it all together! Sure will be a sharp looking one :)

I have a favor to ask. Next time you're taking photos can you take a closeup of the means of attaching the sheave to the wheel? Also, would you measure the diameter and width of the sheave? Many thanks,
SB

Here is a pic for posterity. Like Taco said He welded in the mounts "they are one with the frame" Off seting the motor wont work, the seat post is in the way. You can see in the pic how the drive pully bracket smacks right into the seatpost. They do sell shims for the sheaves so if I can find a pic Im going to try to make them myself add the shims to moving the motor over the 1/4 inch that I can..it will work. Thanks for the Help Taco !!, cool to meet a MB forum member. Silver bear, I will take some detailed pics for you when I take the wheel off for the shims.

Chain,
Is there any way to take pictures from either worm's eye or bird's eye views? If the alignment issue remains I think I would scrap the idea of using a belt drive The chain drive lines right up on my 50 and is smooth running with that transmission. It might not be what you had originally envisioned, but is a viable option. I don't know what that would mean regarding the pulley adaptation to your transmission. Hopefully it could be adapted back again. Pictures will help and maybe either msrfan or Quenton Gunther would have ideas for you, as both have a lot of belt drive experience. Good luck!

I Thought about going to chain drive, but even assuming Q would even swap out My Q I would be out the price for the sheave and parts which were close to 150.00 add on the price of a a new sprocket and adapter. I will just make this one work with some shims. Live and learn I guess. I plan on passing this bike on to My 1 year old son in 15 years so I dont mind putting the extra effort and expense. The bike will be 76 years old then. Looks like rain on both of My days off AGAIN !! Painting might have to wait.

ya chain drive is gonna solve every problem. I'm sure you could sell the sheive and belt and whatever goes with it. Pearsonally im not into running a belt thats crooked

Im going to move the motor over on tuesday and make shims out of 1/8 steel and see where It sits before I go any further. Im pretty sure it will be close to dead on.

Got My motor moved over and the sheave all lined up with the pully. Good to go on that! Spent a day knocking out a punch list for the two bikes and shortening the to do list. Started working on a belt tensioner, measured for belts, and loc-tit a boatload of bolts. Pulled both bikes apart and gave them one last sanding. One last set of pics for before and after paint.
