Got it in about two days ago. Picts eventually! The only thing I got on hand at the moment is my video cam. Don't know what I did with my camera?:(

I ran this thing for about ten miles now. I can totally cruise it quietly at speeds of 20 miles an hour. When I want to it realy opens up hard!! I got the 9.4 model with the latest mods to the motor. Puts it around ten+ I guess. I still gotta mebbe rejet the carb for my altitude tho.

I put a nice set of very clean looking BMX bars on it and my fat rear tire I am trying out. Looks pretty kewl.:) Running some of my quirks out of it. Over all the exhaust is surprisingly quiet and that's a big plus.

I ran through some speed bumps today at ludicrous fast speeds. Honestly these were the kind of speed bumps they put out for guy's like what I was doing lol. The sorta surprise that would darn near total a car.. If I had not seen the speed bumps with my own too eyes I would have never knew I had ran over them. The shocks on this thing and the rebound/dampening they have I never even felt a thump!! Far surpassed my expectations there. Now I wanna go off roading!

More up dates later..

Messing with the Vapor Tech last couple nights getting acquainted with it. I had to warranty the first vapor head unit I am not off to a good start lol. It was doing weird stuff. The support line has been phenomenally nice and helpful. Have to do a day pict. My wires and mounting came out pretty trick.

I got around to rejetting the idle circuit on the carb last week still messing with that. I was circling side neighbored streets in the vid. I shot out of my driveway today impressing the neighbor and nearly could not make the turn on the street corner to the next street this thing will scoot.

The main jet is perfect. Thinking its time to window the the slide a little. Being cautious about that as I cannot put material back lol. So far I changed the choke jet a tiny bit the main jet and the idle jet. Micro drill bits and solder. Almost perfect! Fighting with 5500 feet here. The carb is boarder line to big.

I got a plug chop sitting on the dark side of things so I am a little rich. That was where I wanted to be. The pipe is pretty cool on this thing can hear it loading up sonic-ally around no load or an idle. There is a part where I coughed in the video kinda shows how loud the bike really is.

The blinking lights on the unit are shift and over rev lights. I am still messing with them. My thoughts was to perhaps calibrate them around a perfect clutch. I am still a little confused about how to calibrate the rpm I think it is a little off? Over all I love the unit and like the rest of the features. Loving it! The engine temp I like. This bike is set up with my off road gearing so to speak a cross from city travel to off road.

I should be switching the engine sprocket to a 11 tooth soon from 10 I think that will make it perfect. Just thought to share is all..

hey goat i have a 24 mm on my honda 50cc and it's def not too big for the motor. why did you change the choke jet?
Black smoke half way down the street blowing the motor out was why. I am not sure where I put it at at the moment never measured the bits with a mic. I got good eyes lol. I had no mic at the time. [loaned out] I had it too small and went one size back up could be close to the stock size? Dunno? I used these 30 Piece HSS Mini Drill Set with a dremal arbor in my cordless and yes I broke on bit lol. Got two sets but they are cheap enough.

But I am pretty sure I went smaller. Just takes a sec to drill it out bigger. It starts up good tho. This could be effected by windowing the slide too. I gonna sit back and think this one through good before modding that. The idle circuit is my only left dilemma. I am positive they are both related. What altitude are you at?

Here is a nicely written summery that Breno posted. http://klx250s.suncup.net/Misc Docs/Tuning the Mikuni Carb.pdf

Alls I know is the plug chop is nice and I am not constantly four stroking now. Making progress...

Great bike !!! Do you go trail riding alot?? Or did you just want a sweet bike to cruise around on? Either way it is one fine machine.

I wanted a all around cruiser. This has proved to be a playful one too.:):D Loving it so far. I peddled all my life for the most part all my peddle bike set ups are down hill components geared with touring gear sets. Its the only friggen way I stay warm in the winter. lol.

I am still breaking the motor in It will prolly do around 40 mph max when said and done. My sweet spot is about 30 and I like it that way. Its not always how fast you can go but sometimes how fast you can go fast. The 11 tooth sprocket should make it perfect.

I began this hobby with a mad mans quest for speed finally got it out of my system. I used up some China's in the beginning revved them dead. This thing will go for ever the way I intend to use it for the most part. Morini's are pretty well built. I relentlessly beat my old 5.8 and its as strong as ever. These motors just seam to love to have the daylights revved out of them.

I do think I was getting more rpm's out of the 5.8 ignition. This 9.4 seams rev limited? Couple more tanks of fuel I will red line it and see whats shes got. I really don't have any good reason to try to tear this get up.. up . Its my baby. But gotta say since the motor is starting to make more power with every tank it is very addicting to jump on it.:D

goat those bits from harbor freight are junk they break just looking at them. 1977 mopeds and treatland.tv has every jet you could need packs of 5 for 10 bucks. also whats up with the proflex man you got me wondering if its ever gonna be ready.

I know the bits are fragile. Thing is they worked! Or at least entertained me lol. I got to work in a shop years ago where automotive carbs still got rebuilt soldering a jet & re-drilling it was a casual thing.

I enjoyed tunning this carb so far. But I love to tinker. The idle jet is what I prolly need?? The drill bit coverage I have don't get there I used what I had methodically in stages. I went through the bits and wobbled them in the jet holes to check size before I soldered them shut. I had a machinist ruler caliper thingy and them good eyes too lol. Just looked Treatland is out of stock. I did think to set the drill bit to the side I used to later truly measure it .

You are prolly right tho. Because of one thing that I think of the said jets. Starter [choke circuit] jet has mores holes further up on the jet body . They come in 50,55,60,and 65. betcha I got it at close to 50. Starts right up perfect every time with the choke tho ''cold starts''. It was mandatory to fix.

After I made the pilot jet smaller on the bottom of it I finally have adjustment that showed up at the mixture screw. In the beginning that screw did nothing at all. The choke circuit is related to this circuit as well. As per this Link. This is why I messed with it. I don't ride down the street with the choke on.

I let the motor warm up some then ride it. Don't wanna do any thing like cold seizure to a tight well built motor. I will never drive it with the choke on.....About 15 to 30 seconds tops with the choke on so far then I give this pig a minimum of three minutes to warm up. Occasionally blipping the throttle and raising the idle untill the fins get warm.. Dellorto Motorcycle Carburetor Tuning Guides I will put in a call to treatland tomorrow those jets are cheap enough I owe it to myself to take a look I think.

I got this carb so close tho... Other than a occasional bog once a blue moon [ been very rare] off Idle still a little rich there. It does not want to idle down low. The driveability is pretty darn good right now. My thoughts originally was I wanted to run this thing a tad rich. This thing was horrible at bogging in the beginning when the carb was untouched. After idling [rough] at a intersection light this bike would buck and barley move. But then when it did move and blow out it still was 4 stroking heavy a lot.

My start up routine right now when the motor is hot ''only set coolling for a few minutes'' I blip the throttle while hitting the kick start. If it cools long enough I have to use the choke for a brief second. I never blip the throttle while hitting the kit start with the choke on at anytime ever. My 5.8 I never touched the carb and it was the same way.

My buddy has been using the pipe for the last 2 months as I have no running china's right now. Well I have one but I truly hate the bike. Just a couple of new motors here I wanna finesse correctly. So I let him play with it we all only live once lol. You tuned it perfect! The welding and craftsmanship is awesome!! That pipe is sweeet!! I kinda gave up on the Proflex don't think I want to ever do a J Shaft again. Gonna peddle it. It pales in comparison to the BoXer.

dont be getting morini spoiled lol
Too late it spoiled me from day one.

''What altitude is the said Honda wondering around at''?

now you gotta get the proflex going. maybee someday i can get my tacoboxxer goin lol
How about your full sus build! That's gonna be a kewl bike! My full suspension Morini bike I built was a time consuming saga. I have a lot of respect for the builders here! That water cooled China you are building is gonna be trick as all get go!! I love it I really enjoy all the builds on this forum got my respect!!

Sorry I did not get back to you on the Proflex man plans change all the time.
I have definite plans for that pipe!(^) Got one blueprinted for the most part China coming together.

Been thinking about how cool a water 12 hp cooled Morini would look! Not that I am complaining in any way about these air cooled tho really they are perfect. I beat the snot out of my old 5.8 hp. It only loved me for it. Runs better than ever.

hey btw it seems like the floats arent adjustable you have to order them by weight to either richen or lean so a heavier float will richen it vice versa. also get that pipe on something man your killin me lol

My float is not all plastic. The needle valve fulcrum point assembly is metal. I adjusted the metal at this said fulcrum point. I don't see why that would not work?

Not saying I don't beleiveya but here is what mine looks like. My float bowl is still at the top. I have not really tweaked this much yet only did a ''miner bend before'' but I am now. The needle valve pictured actually goes in deeper than pictured. I did see grams labeled on it tho..

Edit I simply let the float bowl go dry observing things and I tweaked it no dice. Need to jet smaller on the pilot jet more. The adjustment metering screw is all the way in. Where as before I ever touched the carb it had no effect. It does now If I take it out more it will bog more.
