INTERESTED! And Im just across town. AND i just so happen to be working on a frame for a very cool build. I wanna 3 speed. Would you get Sturmey Archer or Nexus ?
SA and Shimano (Nexus) both make fine 3-speed hubs.
I used an SA 5-speed once but other than that it's Nexus 3-speeds.
Does your new frame have a rear disc brake boss?
I'd just get the best priced hub with a disc mount and rotary shifter.
Well and fine to over complicate an entire drive train and admire it too. But your joking in the idea I'd hope. A larger lightweight centrifugal clutch with cooling fins "if that's what they are supposed to be"not an circus of movement as if presenting an old windup Rolex would be more appreciated here.
I'm working on a very command 2 stroke engine with a flywheel that could easily turn a centrifugal clutch instead of a silly clutch and pressure plate set. More is less on these bike if you want to make them lightweight and reliable with I'd suspect no one will comment on the idea. But the engines in general are all about the same ....

I have time before the boat sails to make a couple of last minute changes.
One will be the Transfer Cases base plate 4 engine mount holes.
They are drilled to make the base level.
I want to make them groves so you can orient the TC up so the bottom cover is level all the way down to where the output shaft is near the engine base plate for the long shaft shift version.
With the TC oriented up you don't need the extra wide pedals, with it oriented down you can fine tune alignment with the carrier bearing on the right side for the long shaft.
I am getting a variety of parts, a few brand new designs.
80, 90, and 100T freewheel T-belt secondary pulleys, and both 20T and 16T bell housing primary T-belt pulleys.
And of course both long and short output shafts, mostly the long ones but some short shafts for direct drive builds as well as SBP jackshaft builds.
This will give you the option of primary gear reductions from 4:1 to 6.25:1 and most anything in between for the perfect primary gear reduction for your needs.

... If you can call a literal slow boat from China fast pace.
I have a full pallet (30) new 10G regular shafts coming along with 20 Long Shafts I can swap into them along with some other standard 4G parts and such to fit your 4-stroke transfer case needs.
I found the perfect bearings for the 15mm shafts carrier bearing locally.
15mm on the inside, and the exact same size on the outside as the SickBikes 5/8" jackshaft bearings.
I secured KCsParts.com to process orders with a nice shopping cart system that can do some neat stuff for my end and your end, including pre-ordering if stock is not in yet.
Please don't bother to use that yet, you'll know when it's live and ready.
My initial new base mount design is up at the metal shop to get me the materials bases to make a better universal mount for all these 142F engines for any use.
As I transition from building cool bikes to selling kits to DIY guys I have a whole slew of things I have come up with to make life easier including something I have wanted in my own shop for my tools for years...
They are being printed up now, and again, just around the corner from me, and it's no mom and pop print shop, they can do 1,000,000 units a week if I want and I might need that.
I just can't go into real detail yet but suffice it so say if you have hand tools like wrenches and sockets constantly subjected to abuse, gas and oil you are going to want this so you can tell what size a tool is in a pile of tools from across the room.
It's the old adage...

The metal shop around the corner bent me up a few feet of nice interlocking steel for the new mount system for cheap.
Enough for 2 or 3 bases I think, or room for mistakes hehehe ;-}
Got a 10" Jepson chop saw with new metal cutting blade here, and bought a new 12 Ton press today for pressing bearings and punching out holes and slots in the base metal if I can find the dies.
I'm shooting for a new better universal base that will also take my special long shaft carrier bearing for 10G KCK long shaft transfer case.
Nothing but a$$holes and elbows tomorrow while see what works best.
I'm turning away work to do this right, a surprising amount of work actually, 4 or 5 builds in the last couple of days.
Enough for 2 or 3 bases I think, or room for mistakes hehehe ;-}

WOO! You been busy spendin money KC! I been working on my frame trying to get it ready for powder-coat. S.A. 3 speed hasnt arrived yet and Sportscarpat hasnt made it to the post office for the worksman wheel set I ordered from him yet. But its always the same story. Get a plan; order parts... Wait. Change plan. Order parts... Wait. Go back to original plan... Cant find old parts... Order parts... Wait.

Yes, real innovation is kind of like that.
I have pissed away a new sports cars worth of money on things I designed that were cool but I either couldn't produce them or afford to do it with my own money.
Anyway, I'm 'all in' on a new universal better 4-stroke base design for anything with the ability to use my 10G KCK long shaft transfer case.
If this pans out like it should I should have the tools and capital to finally make my solar clothes dryer I designed over a decade ago, but that's another story .

I still have a NIB 100T 4G but never tried to fit into my GT2A-S after learning that it won't fit without alot of cussing and prolific use of a BFH. I am hoping that your kit will be a relatively easy fit and let me run a single chain.

Kind of, same principle, except it tumbles the clothes and you don't need clothes pins ;-}
The base mount will be the important part, that's what we are messing with 12g production steel now.
I won't have my 10G parts to sell here for another month or so, which gives me time to the get the new base right for every small 4-stroke engine in a bicycle center cavity mount in a variety of frame sizes.
My design takes a lot from how Jim devised his for the SBP 4-stroke shift kit.
3-point mount and support for a rotating shaft (or not for direct drive), just different as there is no second shaft that goes behind the seat post.
I'm starting with the hardest bikes to stick a 4-stroke in, this will be the kits minimum center cavity size base.
The Fito dual disc is getting the first one, a Pantera 7-s will get the next, I have a customer for that one and it's a solid safe bike.
When I have numbers of cost to my door for what I have coming and have to have made I will update my site and allow pre-order sales.

That is nice! Hey where can I get a pair of just those bent arm cranks??? I'm putting the 79 pred. on my box in front long cargo bike and sbp bb is not going to be wide enough. Thx.
I have a feeling the timing on this could not be better. I have been put off from actually building the 4 cycle of my dreams for a multitude of reasons. Illinois law has a limit of one HP, which is ludicrous considering the hills here in the river city. The court would never clarify other points of legality for me (basically saying take your chances and see if you get arrested); and I never had a decent tax return to give me the available finances until now.
Much of what I have read in this thread has gone beyond my current understanding, but I will be pm'ing you, KC for some knowledge and assistance.
Thanks for this encouraging info on a big improvement to much of what has been available. I am going to keep reading many posts on 4 cycle bikes, gearboxes, etc. until I can confidently build a quality setup of my own.
