1911 Indian

Thanks, I saw that one. It looks like a different tread than yours. Keep posting and addind pics, you have helped us all so much.

The picture is probably not reliable. It will have the corded stripe look. Thanks Robert. I don't have anything new to post right now. The Indian is running great. Nothing left to do that I can think of.

Now that you have done almost everything that you can do to the bike, do we see a second build coming? A Harley build would be a nice addition the you garage.

Or perhaps another Indian with sidecar like you mentioned earlier in the thread....... Then there would be room to take the dog..... He seemed interested in earlier photos :-)

I've said it before, maybe on this thread, I called coker and tried to get them to change the picture to an accurate one. No luck, I guess they just don't care enough to do it!

This is the Simplex tire:

A 26x3 tire........The link that had the wheel, that site also carries the right size of tire

Yeah, I'm not sayin I like the idea of ANY of it, but for a pedal bike that's where I'd get the rim and tire....Peace y'all

The bike is officially finished. Barring a possible sidecar or such. Here are a couple of pictures of the bike with the latest upgrades. External pushrods, Comet belt cover, external oil lines on the engine case. Everything is running great. Completely reliable and road worthy.

Wow Cobra. From all the use its gotten, it looks great with an oldish patina. I think that these projects never finish, but it looks great. How are you finding the worksman and moped drum brakes? very effective?

There is a lot to be said for a mild patina. It goes a long way toward making people believe it truly is an old bike when it isn't. People "expect" a 100 year old bike to have the scars of living that long. Showroom new just looks artificial to me.
The wheels are very strong. I'll probably never have another broken spoke, that's for sure. The rear moped brake is clean and trouble free. With five wheel bearings it is very smooth and tough. The rear brake amounts to only 10% of the braking power, but it still helps. The front 90mm Sturmey/Archer Dyno Hub brake is awesome. Very effective drum brake.
Now we all need to go to the Bi-yearly Whiz-in near Stockton CA for a convention to ride in the events. Everyone's a gear head like Us. We built them so now we need to ride them :)

The bike turned out superb cobrafreak, a bike to be very proud of! Looks like the real thing and the fact that it performs well and is reliable is paramount.

I finally got my award for best of class (Other Class) at the 2nd annual A&S BMW vintage motorcycle show. I was the only one at the show that won that didn't get a trophy because the mine was on the bottom of the box and the paint got ruined. It had to be rebuild and the guy that did it went to Germany for a vacation, so it's nearly 2 months late, but better late than never. I appreciate winning a best of class award at an all motorcycle event. They really dug it.

Congrats!

I can't wait until next years Route 66 car show. They have 1000s of cars every year. I won't show it, I'll just make people say "what the heck was that?" as I cruz by.

The bike is done...so now what? Are you going to just ride it and enjoy it or have you started thinking about a new build? I really enjoyed watching the progression of this bike. So hopefully you will be building another so I can have another favorite thread to follow. Great bike!
