well, looks like I'm just out - machine at home doesn't get the xf_adAction cookie since that seems to come in thru a CSS3 script that can't run on a 9x browser - was thinking of inserting that cookie myself, but it just decodes to "a:3:{i:0;b:0;i:20;a:2:{s:1:"v";i:1;s:2:"vt";i:1495753932;}i:6;a:2:{s:1:"v";i:1;s:2:"vt";i:1495753957;}}" which seems to be just ID tags for the ads

I note that the site tries to get browser resolution by calling for info from HTML5 canvas instead of from the window directly and 9x browsers don't have HTML5 capability. I don't see a way to fix that : (

not ready to buy a whole 'puter to get to one site

I'm thinking that if the sidebar was set as "off" in default, folks that want it could toggle it 'on', while folks that couldn't hit the toggle switch would still be able to see the board.

starting to become concerned about only 5 posts showing since yesterday in new posts - I hand out only this site when i sell a kit so the buyer can get more info

don't care much for all the gossip & crap on other site. but wondering if that's where all the posts will end up

Dunno if it will do ya any good Crassius. But we have at least 5 pc towers collecting dust. From '95 to XP vintage, I think. I could take pictures of the hardware and just send ya what ever parts you'd want.

Leme know. Would be great to see them be useful again. well, parts or some of them.

Dan, I was thinking along these lines too. I don't think we're going to get his computer working. I'll look around too. Probably won't have time to go through what I have till next week. Maybe we can come up with something.

Uber cool. Really like "here" for just that sorta thing. Not once have I needed some thing and someone has not offered to help.

The rally things are great for that. We have rebuilt intire MBs with spare parts at them. Aside from fun and ya learn a ton of stuff. Ya get some one (often me) up and running.

I have several newer ones at the shop - I have data and a lot of programs to process it that I wrote many years ago on the home machine - I've been keeping it going for almost 20 years now and will stick with it.

I can still get here from the shop when repairs are slow, still suspect that if sidebar were off by default and folks could turn it on if wanted, it might allow the forums to display in that unused area - the media and members areas pop in just fine in the center area, just the forums fail.

I understand. Let us know if this changes. Happy to look.

There's no default off option. I did find one last thing to try. I found the sticky sidebar feature turned on that keeps it in your view port as you scroll. I don't see it offering much value to users and may even slow the site some. I turned it off. Try giving it one last shot.

:) No problem Dan. Just want to make sure all those initial kinks are worked out. I think we're about there.

I've looked at the other two sites that work with my browser (other bike site & theme demo site) and it would seem that your declaration of the navbar as three separate calls is what makes my browser render it as three separate navbars, which it then tries to fit into a type of iframe with its own scrolling. Still stuck with only getting here on the shop computer rather than from home.

So far I've tried four device's and haven't had any problems. My tablet, our lap top on win 10, my work desk top on win 10 and my iPhone. I went through some of the same when we trying to stay ahead of the curve in the 90's when our children were in high school. Every time a new program came out I had to upgrade something.

Greg, Ya made me think of a thing. I have a Buddy in upstate NY. He's blond haired, blue eyed and went blind when he was 16. He lifts weights and has close to zero body fat. He looks like the cartoon version of a hitler youth. (Woman fawn over him) But as a kid, he was in a Rastafarian, Jamaican street gang. When they were doing dirty, They would hand the blind, alabaster skinned kid a gun and tell him he was the look out. (the blind white kid! LOL!)

But he is real into computers. One day he was showing me how he could hack my PC hundreds of miles away and turn on my cam. We get to messing around and had trouble doing some thing.

His 6 yr old hops up on his lap and says; "Daddy, ya just...." And commences to show us both up! I knew Rob, the blind rasta gangsta was way better at this stuff than me. But a 6 yr old! I gave up right there, snork.

Haven't forgotten about you. I have a ticket with the theme developers support to see if they have suggestions. I'll let you know if I find anything helpful. This of course won't explain the difference between the demo, but they've asked what browser and version you are using?

Hey crassius - First I have to say I crack up every time I see your signature. I've seen it a bunch now, still makes me laugh. I'm sorry, but I don't know that we are going to get this working on your home browser. Their support wasn't helpful in figuring out the differences. Basically just said it's not designed to work with a decade old browser. I figured that was why they insisted on the version. I was just hoping they might be able to understand the difference between the demo. After a couple tries though, I'm not getting anything useful.
