on the plus side, all this about the s/w keeps us from having to deal with all those post about greasy old bicycles : )

Just to reiterate. The upgrading the forum was not a decorating choice. The old software had become obsolete and is no longer supported.

Meaning that without security updates, all our information here was easy pickin's for hackers. Eric did us a great kindness at great expense.

I know change sucks but this is where we are. I am not a computer wiz or even a professional. But I have not had a problem navigating or doing anything. Pretty much works the same. But also know that there still might be bugs as it's been online for what, 20 hrs? so, I am right here and will be all day. Please just let me know of anything problematic. And I will find out what's needed.

Still nothing on the alerts, Crasius other than if ya uncheck em, they are never reported to you, in your account. I'll keep looking.
 
OH! Alerts. After the notification fades. The alert icon on your account changes color and numbers how many you have. Someone quoting, addressing you, posting in a thread you're subscribed to etc.
 
PMs don't pop up and alerts come into the list but don't pop up either and I see no option in alerts for getting one when someone PMs me
 
it's a small bubble next to where you type. Only last a few seconds than only other notification is is the flag icon at the top.

PM alert should show in the top orange bar over the envelope. Other alerts over the flag.
I believe I can have that orange nav bar hover at the top of the screen. Just seems cluttered. That way you could always see them pop up. Is that what you mean so they're always on the screen?
 
not really, on old board a window popped open as soon as I connected

I suppose this would be no worse that the motoredbikes site if I could just log in from the house - any idea why I can get to their site, but cannot get here?
 
OK, as near as I can tell, the problem is you're use of two html content areas in one panel

in the pic where you have forums in left area and unrelated info in right area (circled) I only see the right area at home with no forums visible

the place where forums should be is just blank white space

This is a lot better, I'm still searching for a few thing that were on the home page. Is there a calendar ?

Mornin' Greg. Wow, saw your concern and went to reply by phone, but lit up chromebook to see it better and what I typed ("Mornin Greg" was already on the type box.

But I dunno but will check. Really cool he got this much done in a day. And really cool that ya didn't go ballistic. Thanks. Takes time to move all that. I'm really liking the new stuff/upgrade, personally.

But will find out and get back to ya. Might be on the road so will text.

OH! Thanks about Shelly. She is doing good! You were right Buddy.

Wow MBR. Never heard of that as a stipulation.
