Good question where do we pay our registration fees Neil. And are numbers are the same from the last race right .
The stock slat heads are prone to warp and blow head gaskets even more so if milled . Just not enough material there .Jeff, Your Bike looks great, can’t wait to see it. what is the part # for that Puch head? I’ve been looking for one for my ride and don’t know which one to purchase.
And D*cDave, don’t talk too much sh*t on the stock head because I’m going to be running a stock head at the Grange and if you remember I was running an unaltered stock slant head at Willow aswell……
Actually, the cylinder, bearings, connecting rod, piston and rings, intake, and Carb are all stock manufacture.
The only thing that is not stock on my engine is a modified intake manifold from MMechanic, air filter and exhaust from SBP, Dellorto main jet, and Jaguar CDI, which these don’t really qualify because it’s not part of my engine, it’s ‘bolted or added on’ to the engine.
3 weeks till the big race, and I’m ready…………I hope
I an running those same parts so let the competition be warned .
Be warned...I hope you machined my cylinder for the same piston clearance...as yours. It's amazing what increased CC's will do for the china girl

I had some question about race dates so here is the plan
so everyone has lots of notice.
SoCal Motor Bicycle Racing Schedule for 2012.
It mainly comes down to the weather, daylight hours and being able to
space out three races in a year with enough time in between them.
Also avoid holidays and other undesirable dates.
When you consider all the above there really isn't a lot of room to move
the 3 dates.
I announced the Oct 22nd race right after Willow Springs as Sept 24th but
after looking at the weather reports for the last 10 years moved it to Oct 22nd
because the average temp goes down 10 degrees from over 90' to about 80'
I am glad the date was moved because Sat Sept 24th was 88' at 11.35am
and still 90' at 3.55 pm. Too hot to be wearing safety gear and helmets.
If you look at the Grange Race Track calendar there are almost no races
in September and October is booked solid for every weekend except for the last one.
Why? because it's too hot in September!
On November 6th daylight savings kicks in and it gets dark at 5 pm which is
really miserable as the days are really short and winter weather is starting.
There are no permanent lights at the track.
Never going to do a Grange race in November or December for many reasons.
Never going to do a race in August or September as it's way too hot.
That leaves October as the only choice.
I am paying attention to the weather this month and the race may be moved
by a week or two in October 2012.
I can give you the same reasoning for a race date in late March or April but
am still not 100% decided on the exact date.
The 2nd race of 2012 will probably split the time between March/April? and Oct
and will deal with the heat by being a night race under lights.
Anyone have some feedback?

Feedback: Just a silly idea and prolly near impossible to do would be night racing in the dark. This would require the bikes to have their own lighting and a couple of generators for lighting for the score keepers, the pits and whatever else that needs minmal light....a full moon would also help.
a rose by any name -I spell deuce duce so squonch band is just more of the same dyslexic fun. speaking of fun I got my "NEWSED" that's used but new to me- parts to replace the piston on my RAW motor it lost the pin that holds the rings in place scarring the cylinder and braking the small beveled gear.I had a time of it porting as the cylinder has different ports, higher and smaller with a 90* edged transfer port the fist cylinder had the angled port for better scavenging so I went with a bigger power port and piston port as I run a reed block should be fine.Nothing like a tight squish band .
I'll build it to day and I guess we'll see how it runs

Best guess a RAW??? as that all he sells and the small beveled gear fits -maybe an old modal but it was free and I've all ready cut the ports so I'll run it. I always have mechanical problems be for a race event but that's how it gos I guess.

The SoCal Motorized Bicycle Race is an exclusively booked event at
Grange Race Track.
If you are under 18 a parent or guardian must sign a waiver.
Everyone must sign a waiver, both spectators and those riding on
the track.
Open face is OK too.
There are no additional fees besides the entry fee.
There is free camping in the pits on Friday and Saturday night.
You can stay and watch a Supermoto race on Sunday for no extra charge.

My motors back together it was raining here yesterday so I test road it this morning needs to be tuned in a Little, jetting and timing are are adjustable on my set up so I'm all most ready for Grange got to put on the lower bares fix the kill switch paint # plates BLA BLA BLA BLA

However if you are a vendor with a website and lots of products
please email me if you want to sell at the race on Oct 22nd.
If you make bikes like Taylor Motorbikes or Helmutt Cycles you are
encouraged to bring and show off what you are building.
I have already talked to both of those builders and hope that they make it.
Dan Taylar is located in Victorville, CA really close to Grange and
some of his builds are being ridden at the race by his customers.
