Looks like PaulD the winner at the April Tucson Death race is coming
with a faster ebike.
You fast gas bikes have some competition in the Ultimate Race.

If you can make it down to Oregon,
I bet PaulD will give you a ride to SF area, where he is meeting
with me and some friends to carpool the rest of the way.

New rule for gas and ebikes: All bikes must have an adequate front and rear brake.

So called "regen brakes" are not acceptable as a braking system.

The only exception to this rule is for the guys in the 50 cc 4 stroke class and
the 2 stroke Chinese kit bike class that only have a coaster brake and are not serious racers.

It is a fun event and i don't want to discourage new riders in the 2 low powered and speed classes from participating.
To everyone with only a coaster rear brake it is strongly recommended to get your bike fitted with a front brake.

Only 33 days to go to the big day.

I assume you mean unlimited race as an event for him after his normal class race right? PaulD's bike had 4hp in the death race... His new bike has a hopeful 6hp with overheating issues... That entire race he was getting killed on the straights, had to draft to make his pass, he won through superior riding on all bicycle parts too!

Why on earth would this be in unlimited class? Because he is an excellent rider on a feather-weight low-power machine he built from scratch with a motor the size of a soda can???

There is absolutely NOTHING on PaulD's bike that would put it ONLY in unlimited.

This is PaulD's bike:

This was the 2nd place finishing bike that lead the race for 90% of the time until PaulD managed a breath takingly awesome pass from a combo of drafting the faster bike down the straight and the faster bike making a corner entry mistake.

liveforphysics you are confused and got it backwards.
Please read it again carefully..........you are confusing
the word Ultimate for Unlimited. (Unlimited means no limits) Get it?

I never said the word Unlimited. in the post above.

I said the fast gas bikes will have some competition from PaulD in the Ultimate Race
which is the big race of all 5 classes of bikes at the end of the day which includes.
ebikes
50 cc 4 Stroke
Chinese 2stroke kit bikes.
Mid range class.
11 hp or less class.

magrider won both the Ultimate race and the 2 stroke class at Willow Springs
and there was no Unlimited race. it is new for the Oct 22nd race.

The Unlimited Class is for bikes 12 hp or more which are outside the rules
like a multi speed motorcycle engine or for using motorcycle tires or for using over size
electric motors.

There are only two bikes that fit in the Unlimited Class right now.
One is agk's 20 hp harbor freight bike and your bike with it's over
sized electric motor made by goldenmotor.com.

I agree with everything you said about PaulD's bike below as it fits in
with the few rules that the race has.
PaulD won the Tucson race fair and square and he would have got the
#1 plate if he had shown up at Willow Springs.

Please read what I said again......

San Diego CA,
Quick question,

I will not be racing, cruiser not running, and have yet to start building a race bike. However, I would like to drive up and watch the races (may even bring my sons) is there a cost to spectate and hang out with the racers in the pits? I have a buddy racing and would like to bring my badass camera to take some good pics for the forum.

Spectators are $10 and kids 16 and under are free with an adult.

Camping is free Friday and Saturday night for spectators and race
entries and there is a supermoto race on Sunday you can stay and
watch for no extra charge.

There is a pro photographer hired to cover the event but the more
pics the better.

You have 30 days to get a bike together and get out on the track
with your buddy which will be too much fun..............

I just had a thought of how to bring more participants into this race... What if we had a stand up scooter race? I see a lot of these guys toolim around the nieghborhood and a few around town, but I suspect they get messed with by the cops quite often and have to park thier motorboards. Funsuckers! Anyway, I bet a few on here own one and the guys that have had to park them instead of getting a ticket may just want to start thier own racing league and could piggyback onto our ecclectic group no problem. Personally, I like longboarding and I might even be interested in getting a "stink" (LOL) board and getting out on the track with one. Of course, they would be in thier own separate races. Just a thought to gain more traction, more sources of income, and more cool guys together.

FLAGS:
Red Flag

If at any other time during the race a red flag is displayed, all
racing will immediately come to a safe halt. A red flag will be displayed and
a race may be stopped if there is a situation that warrants. If more than
half of the laps have been completed the race will be terminated and racers
will be awarded with the position of their last completed lap. If less than
half of the laps have been completed, the race will usually be restarted.

Yellow Flag

The yellow flag represents a warning to riders that the race
track is not as expected and where extra attention is to be paid to the
racing environment. Riders are to proceed with caution until past the
yellow flag situation. When a waiving yellow flag is displayed passing is
prohibited, speed should be in check until you are beyond the incident.

Black Flag

If a rider is presented the black flag the rider is to safely
return to the pits or pull off the track. The black flag is presented to a rider
under the following conditions: race conduct, or race officials observe a
motorcycle presenting a danger to the rider or other participants. Failure
to comply will result in a loss of track access.

White Flag

The white flag informs the riders that there is one lap
remaining in the race event.

Checkered Flag the race is concluded and a winner is declared.
