i don't think they would, but the stock that they haven't sent out needs to adjust it's price to what it's now worth, so they can stay in business,things are worth more when their is less of them.
 
It might be worth discussing the despised "middle man", who seems to be everywhere. One role of these hated "middle men" is to allow the producer access to vastly larger markets than they would otherwise have access to. One of the nice roles of the Internet is, allowing sellers and buyers direct access to each other outside the retail market. Unfortunately, this phenomenon has not escaped the notice of governments that are scrambling to get a cut of the action. The middle men do perform a service for their "cut" in the process, not so much with government.

The political nature of government will inevitability lead to a redistributionist trend, requiring an ever larger cut of the Free Markets earnings. Government must spend for defense and infrastructure, that promotes the workings of the Market. When that spending begins to exceed those parameters, government begins to suck the life blood from the Market and our economy.

Well, Hosni's history. The first step is done, a thug tyrant has been deposed but what now? The media is going orgasmic with talk of Democracy in Egypt and tingles are running up and down legs all over the place but just who is it out in those streets? I don't know and I don't know what their ideas are either. But I do know this, a functioning Democracy in Egypt could spell the death of the Iranian Mullah's and that theocracy, maybe inside three years.

If dumb little old me can figure that out, so can they and I believe they have plans to do everything possible to stop Democracy from happening.

Can you say Muslim Brotherhood?

he mite have been a thug tyrant, but he liked USA, whoever comes into power next probably won't cause that's just how america works, everyone hates us.

our only chance at them liking us is the fact that barak obama sided with the protesters, so maybe whoever comes into power will take that into consideration, otherwise we just lost one of our few allies in that section of the world.

of course if muslims come into power there we can pretty much kiss any chance of that happening good bye.

Our history is rife with examples of the US Government paying thugs to like us and do our bidding. We do it in the name of "stability" and we prostitute the very principles we are founded on. Both parties have done it and it seems to always end the same, thug thrown out - people hate us for propping up thug. And still we don't understand what's going on.

In the last year of the Bush Admin., they saw the handwriting on the wall and started pressuring Mubarak to begin Democratic reforms. Too little, too late.

Whow, at least I've now lost all confidence in our government to govern with any form of morality or even a shred of competence!

Egypt is going to have it tough for a little while.
The people don't even know how to judge if someone is right to direct their wishes or even what they are yet.

Heck America has had over 200 years to work on it and we still don't have 'ideal' for everyone, but then again, when we 'suffer' or get 'taken advantage of' it is nothing like Egypt has endured for 30 years.

What I do read through the lines of the talking heads doing news is the eyes of the people.
I see focus, or at least squinting hard to get some.
It's up to them now, and hopefully just them.

There is plenty to read about every form of freedom based government.
If the best and smartest ones learn enough to say 'I like this way best' and have the backbone to stand up and do it, that is ideal.

Get 4 or 5 choices of idea people and everyone vote.

I would think the winner would get all the others in to help as well, don't you?
 
I really don't see Islam as a threat, I do, however, see some groups as a threat that claim to serve Islam. I'm not very smart and need to keep matters simple so I can get my arms around them. The way I view things is, we have two ideologies and they are polar opposites. The ideology that human rights were granted by the Creator, thereby granting human beings the right of self governance and the ideology that rights are bestowed by those with the biggest gun. Tyranny is still tyranny, whether it is based in religion or political/economic philosophy.

Yes Islam has a dark past but so does Judaism, Christianity and most of the worlds religions. I seem to recall Christians burning women at the stake because someone called them a witch.

You left coasters may not believe this but we've evolved into a diverse population in the Southeast. I am well acquainted with Muslims, I've even been invited to bid on the building of a Mosque. The Muslims that I know are just as much a Free Market Capitalist as I am, they revere the Constitution. I know many Christians that are raving Communist and would like to see a Chavez style government here. I've spent many hours with blacks who are serious anarchist and I've been to Tea Party rallies with others. What's your point, some people are bad, do ya think, the worlds history is full of mans inhumanity to man.

I reject the very concept of slavery, yet many of the Founders I revere were slave owners. People ain't perfect. The radical Islamist, that wants the imposition of Sharia law on the world, IS NOT MY FRIEND. In the 30's and 40's, the Germans that wanted to impose National Socialism on the world, WERE NOT MY FRIEND. I can discern people by their motives, I don't need to lump them all into the same bucket.

I completely understand the violent nature of fundamentalist Islam. I also personally know many Muslims, that while practicing their religion reject that fanaticism and are very moderate. If we chose to engage the fundamentalist on their terms, the only solution is to kill them all. The other option is to engage the threat in the arena of ideas and with the moderate Muslims, win hearts and minds.

I've never had a problem with killing when necessary but I choose to find another path whenever possible. Our greatest tools in that endeavor are our own principles of Individual Liberty and Free Market Capitalism. Fundamental Islam rejects these principles but they are a very powerful argument in the arena of ideas.

As always, I accept my place as an "old fool".
