Neil, Is it going to be the track we raced on a few years back or the oval?
Next race is Saturday April 12th 2014 at Willow Springs go kart track.

We are back on the original track which is the 9 turn go kart track.

You were there on June 18th 2011 at the very first California motorized bike race.

Will try to get everyone on some of the other Willow tracks too on that weekend but there are no guarantees that will work out.

Maybe we can hit the oval on Sunday April 13th?

agreed CCW. that is a fun track

now if we could get some confusion worked out about classes that would be great.
what class does a 9-10hp bike race in?

part of the tech should be done after the race. ex. the winning bike should get dyno'd to confirm it is in the correct class.

Agreed as the next bike I'm building to race will be 9-10hp. Not 11-12hp and not unlimited as I can't race 2 bikes in the same race until I'm cloned :D

My next race build will be less than 10hp mid-class style.

Counter clockwise of course as dictated by the map ;) That is a short track :D
M1GP races the Willow go kart track in both directions, CCW and CW.

The June M1GP race that I watched when I went to scope out the ovals for our summer night races was raced CW.

#62 Flugelwagen raced in that Sunday M1GP event in their ebike class and another class which cost Dave about $200 for the weekend.

Clone you? There wouldn't be enough dark beer on the planet for the
rest of us if there were two of you......laff

The Midrange class limit is 8 HP

There were no bikes in the Midrange class that made more than 8 HP
at the Oct 19th race and it was won by nashmoto on his Honda GC 160
which has been dynoed at EIGHT hp.

Anyway I have no idea where you got that 10 HP stuff from?

There will be some changes in 2014 for Socal Motor Bicycle Racing events:

Only full face helmets will be allowed. DOT or Snell approved.

No more open face helmets allowed.

Sorry, I know a few of you are attached to your vintage style open face helmets
but we can not and will not make an exception for you.

A lot of the racers have inadequate footwear that do not protect your ankles.

Ankle protecting boots or footwear will be required with no exceptions.

Safety gear inspection will be done before you sign the waiver and get your track wristband.

Please bring all your track riding gear with you to the sign up table or area to get it inspected on Saturday April 12th 2014 at Willow.

Incomplete or inadequate safety gear = no sign up for track racing.

We had our first serious injury on Oct 19th at Grange and even though after
examining what happened it was probably unavoidable although shoulder padding
may has lessened the injuries.

These new safety gear rules are a proactive approach to the possibility of more
serious injuries in future races.

please read the waiver carefully before you sign it because racing bikes on a racetrack
can lead to serious injury or even death.
thanks

Neil, whether you want to acknowledge or not that there was a 9.5hp bike in the mid class is your priority. its been documented on Ryans dyno that there is a china bike that makes 9.5hp. I saw the results, many people where there and witnessed it, and it is advertised on their website that it makes 9.5hp.

like everything he says she says. so again what are you going to do with the 8-11hp bikes. if everyone is legal then there shouldn't be a problem with dynoing the bike after the race to confirm that the bike is in the correct class.

is the 8hp limit up to 8hp or does that mean 8.99999999hp?

That will give me enough time to build a mid class racer and I'll be racing this one!
That's good to hear you ebike weenie! :D
Thanks for the rides on your very nice / slow ebike on Oct 19th. It did handle very well though and that eiry silence is unnerving....

what motor are you using for the Midrange class?

Give all my best to Dean for a quick recovery. Hope to see both of you at Willow.

maybe Ken doesn't know what engine he will use because you cannot address the question. I've been asking this of you for the last 2 weeks.

what are you going to do about the bikes that have 8.0hp - 11hp

I haven't bought an engine for my build because you cannot address the question. are you waiting for someone to tell you what to do?

thanks, do you have a name for the 8-11hp class?
Damn, you really ain't being paying attention. laff

It has always been called the 11 HP class
8 HP to 11.99 HP or something like that.

11 HP class is what all those cool Joker Billet trophies had engraved on them,

2nd from the left in the pic .

nashmoto has that black one in the pic for beating your 11.4 hp water cooled Morini on his 8 hp Honda GC 160 on Oct 19TH and he has a silver one too.

PS: There were NO bikes in the Midrange class on Oct 19th that made over 8 hp unless you wanna ***** about headtramas and Wild Bills 50 cc KTM's?

headtrama did place 2nd in Midrange on Oct 19th. Do you want to protest his bike too? :D
