How fast can your 80cc really go?

I have a stock 80cc with a 44t sprocket and weigh 195. I live in Asheville N.C. which is all mountains. I can hit 31 mph on the flats. What suprised me was that I can consistantly hit 22mph on the Blue Ridge Parkway , which is fairly steep. I dont normally run that fast but cruise up the hills at 18mph. I use a synthetic oil that contains castor oil and run a 20:1 mixture since I only have 250 miles on it. I just did the speed tests since it hit 200 miles.

Ok here's mt 2 centshow fast can my 80 cc really go?! It depends on how badly my fuel tank leaks on me, if the boys get hot I get going! laff
Now really it will go 34 mph.44 tooth rear sprocket.

I hit 38 on a big down hill. What RPM do you think?

lmao 38mph on a 44tooth, 9000rpm bro up in the never never land.

I have heard of less than a handfull of ht's that spin to 8000, 7000 would be very generous and equates to 30mph

On a 36tooth i have gps's at 57kmh or 35.4mph she's revin
the gear calculator said it should be spinning at 6700rpm sounds right?

Why don't you think these little motors can do high RPM's? To the best of my knowledge, the smaller, the higher the RPM. I saw a little tiny one that my teacher said could do over 20000 RPM, although it was only about 1 CC. But 9000 seems totally reasonable to me, especially since I used to have a crotch rocket that didn't even redline until 10 or eleven thousand if I remember correctly, and if not, I do know I've had it up to around 13,000 RPM, and that was 600 CC! I know there's different quality in parts and all, but still, 9000 seems like it's not that high, considering.

I hit 37.7 mph going downhill the other day. My rpm? Zero! HaHaHa!
I turned off the engine and tucked up a bit.

Restarted the engine at 20 mph.

get in a car that redlines at 6000rpm and rev it 3 thousand rpm past it....thats why!

I do think it's possible to do 38mph w/44t (downhill). But it's like that fellow here says about skydiving w/o a chute. You can't do it a second time.

Many guys who placed in the Deathrace noted that engines were not the same afterwards and would not race again. I noticed the same result when I over-revved my second bike.

1st ride: Out of the box, 44T, 50:1 mix, level pavement it went 31 mph (GPS). The vibrations quickly blew the cap off the exhaust and was lost.

2nd ride: I fabricated a new exhaust from a stock Tomos moped pipe and the top speed remained the same. Again, the vibrations blew the cap off and spit the baffle out of the pipe. I recovered the pieces and welded the parts together.

I will be getting a smaller rear sprocket so I can cruise at 30 mph before the engine spins in that unstable range.

with an unbalanced crankshaft the vibrations will limit the rpm of the motor also the possibility of sheared bolts is high, trust me i know :/

highest i've gone is 60.2km/h downhill with engine screaming. (66cc skyhawk)

I hit 62kmh/38.5mph today on a slight decline. My best speed so far. I think I could have kept going but I freaked out a bit lol. I have 38x700c tires running a 9 speed deore rear cassette. This is with a skyhawk gt5 66cc, rocksolidengines billet head, SBP shift kit with the 10tooth, SBP expansion chamber and a boost bottle.

Very very nice :)

do you feel the engine has a bit more pull to it just running out of revs ?

you could get the 11t ;)

My bike could go 100 MPH if I get a small enough rear sprocket & find a steep enough hill!!
Will that count in the top speed records? laff

Yeah!

I got even better idea! Put the 44t on the engine and little 10t on the back wheel! And find biggest hill in town (to go down of course). THEN come back and post in this forum.

sigh, that's just stupid as the engine won't have the torque.

changing the 10T to 11T gives a 10% decrease in engine rpm for the same speed ;) therefore also giving a 10% higher top speed in the condition that the engine produces enough power
