Sorry guys, the last post didn't translate the way it was supposed to, it removed all my word spaces so you may not be able to decipher what buzzard had me morse code.
He thought it would be a great brain teaser for you oldsters. You can tell he's getting bored while he's recovering.

The animated 'Cars' movie has to be one of the most entertaining films ever made for old gear heads as well as kids. I don't know how many times I've watched it but every time I do, I see something new that I'd missed before. So many little, subtle things that pop up and they get me chuckling. I love it.

Ever notice that the R/T on the mountain behind the city of Radiator Springs looks just like the Dodge fender badge?

And who was the genius who cast George Carlin to do the voice of the VW Microbus?
"I'm tellin' ya man, every third blink is slower."

"All those sleeping trucks" LOL, there's a big truckstop just west of Denver on I-70. Every time I pass it its full of semis and I think of that line from the movie. I laugh.

Pure brilliance. :)

I stopped at that TA truck stop west of Denver on I-70 a few times that has to be one of the worse in the nation...the shower head was like using a water pic rediculous. No excuse for that drivers come there and buy $500 + worth of fuel should be able to get a decent shower!

Dat's the one. Ward road and I-70. I've never showered there but I did buy some awsome metal polish there once. Extreme Metal Polish. The best stuff I've ever used. Unfortunately it isn't made anymore. The EPA probably outlawed it.

Try Ace Hardware or motorcycle shops. Anything from a truckstop costs 5x what it ought to. They have a captive audience. haha. And don't drive an 18 wheeler into Buffalo Bill Park! (learned the hard way! Not marked, but it's like this after the first little bit: S S S S S S S S S .

True but not everything inverters & cb radio stuff is cheaper at some truck stops and also they carry the better quality industrial grade stuff. The truck stop in Atlanta IMO was pretty bad (the TA I think it's closed now). The TA that used to be in Mesquite near Dallas used to be infested with lot lizards way back in the 70's. Funny how it is the TA truck stops.

(edit: Oh wait, I'm thinking of the one in Rockwall haha. That one you mentioned, I think is still open, and pretty seedy)
Almost any truckstop attracts the worst kinds of people, on top of the usual crowd that just wants coffee, diesel, or, gas for their bike.

Don't get me started on the TSA. They've done more damage to the airline industry than anything including fuel prices. Those gestapo tactics have kept me away from traveling by air, and I know I'm not the only one.

I remember when flying used to be fun. When the flight attendants treated you like honored guests, when the flight crew occasionally came into the cabin and to actually 'talk' to the passengers, when the food was edible, and included in the price of your ticket. You didn't get frisked, Xrayed, mauled or accosted before you could board your flight. Heck, I even remember when you could smoke on a plane. Try it today and you'll end up in prison. Maybe Gitmo. :)

Tom
"Please extinguish all smoking materials , as we are about to make our decent to Logan"
,
Then when they stopped the smoking . I would go to the bathroom and smoke in there!! Your right though, try that today and they will tackle you and prob. seriously hand cuff you for the remainder of your flight once on the ground you would be put on the "No fly list"

... I'm at the point now where I am willing to take my chances with what ever "might happen" ..just give me back my civil liberties !!

Think about it, whats more intrusive a "possible terrorist attack" that I doubt is gonna happen & if it does there isn't really anything anyone can do o stop a suicide bomber anyway!!! Or knowing your rights are going to be seriously imposed upon & in some cases taken away altogether. .flg.

I mean think about it a meteor could hit you in the head at any given second .. yet you do not see "everyone" walking around with helmets on every day ...well then again I do, but that's just because I take my M/B every place I go

I miss the drive in. 1992 was the last time I went to one with my GF and her friend. About a year later the drive-closed and now we have none.
There is one in Wellfleet Ma. on Cape Cod I miss those window speakers they were a big part of my childhood "

Oh the good ole days when my dad would put my brother and I in the trunk while he drove in to the "Drive Inn" just in case they were gonna charge him a kid fee as well , Now ya just tune it in on you car radio,

In the words of John Cougar "I long for those young boy days!!!".... & I'm talking exhaust leaks rot holes in the trunk big time fumigation stuff they would put a parent away for years for today & we loved it every minute of it.

Mom would be all .."Mac isn't that bad for the kids " No they are fine it help put them to sleep .kinda like laughing gas with out the laughing !!. LOL Strange thing I dont remember many details from any of those movies much at all....hmmmm.. .. I do remember a few parts from .."Saturday Night Fever!"..... "well you can tell by the way i use my walk"
