Very funny Steve . Don't know that I'm a cad, but probably meet the standards of a bounder? What say you.

I was referring to Ludwig's dubious acquaintance's reference to his coat. I'm afraid as a cad and a bounder your a failure. Far to decent a person to fit the description.

Though one of your friends out West has been so accused with little proof.

Steve.

""a cad and a bounder and should be placed on the cheap whiskey list for Christmas."" Too late, he lives there.

The cloud idea is of interest, but no. I'll leave it hanging for the moment. I have this design mostly sorted, the execution should simple enough, if not necessarily easy. Coat 3 will require the greatest skill and technique, and after that, I think I'll move on to other things. Possibly the single Nudie Suit replica, but even now I have to consider making wardrobe space.

The back is done now. On Thursday I go around patching anything missed. Probably then on Sunday, the first butterflies.

The first black butterflies are on the front, reaching up as far as the lower ribs. Next will be overlaid brown ones going a touch further but with the lowest black uncovered. The same system will be repeated in other colours until the last ones are on the top of the shoulders.

I have been given a sort of scattered jungle pattern tie as well, it is to be converted into the lapels and collar.

Coat no2 is proceeding. Still a couple of weeks at least to see it through to the end, but at least I'm not struggling in a cold workshop with a worn out spine. I'll still be glad to get back at the bike though. When it's warmer.

It is close to completion now, only one colour to apply and then trim the lapels. It's a showstopper, and all I was doing was having a bit of fun. I'm a bit shellshocked by it myself.

Revised plans! Cancel final painted coat, make a Nudie style jacket for a performer who needs a better presentation. I get to feel good helping somebody and incidentally learn how to do it better next time for my own suit.

All of The Coats are going to Swanage this week. We will see what happens there.
