It has long been my theory that the Salty Snack aisle at the Wal-Mart grocery stores is solid proof that God wants us to be happy and content.

Steve.

Steve.
Benjamin Franklin said that about wine, and I respect and try to live up to his beliefs. :)

Tom

Tom,
I have to admit that I did shamelessly steal that from the good Dr Franklin. A man of obvious wisdom.

No alcohol sales at Wal-Mart here in Canada I'm afraid. Government can't stand the competition.

Steve.

Man what a difference a week makes, last week it was nice and warm here. It has been raining since Monday almost non stop, now it almost freezing and the wind howling with a good chance of snow and black ice tonight. Dan I don't believe in voodoo but if you did something last week when I picked at you about the cold up there PLEASE REVERSE IT!

LOL Greg. Fraekin' snowed here. You still win. Your having a freak storm. Pretty much I will have that for the next 8 to 10 weeks.

Cold and snow really is hard on folks down south. So uncommon that no one has the cloths and cities/towns just don't have the equipment to deal with it.

First time it snows every year here, say less then an inch. Folks forget how to drive and it's hard to buy a loaf of bread 'cause every one panics and clears the store shelves like they are gonna die. By the last storm of the winter, 6" to a foot of snow and every one is "a'well. Happens" LOL

Ya know how we can get rich!? We fabricate snow plows and sanders for municipal garbage trucks and emergency lease them to cities and towns down south. Make em so they can fit on commercial aircraft.
(Man, that could actually work)

If you have a way to not go out/drive with black ice on the roads (the most evil of all the ices!) don't go out! Really, even if you deal well with it, a whole bunch of folks will be out and not.

LOL, just dawned on me. TJ and our far northern brethren are laughing at us. Up in the great white north, summer is July 7th to August 28th. If it's nice, they have a picnic. Winter is pretty much the rest of the year.

Dan, I think that only you would want to try and plow snow and scatter sand by using commercial aircraft.

I can picture it now, a Boeing 737 flying 4 feet off of the ground with a huge snow plow attached to the nose. Plowing at 400 MPH, with a sand wheel hanging off of the tail.

I like snow, I like to see it and watch kids play in it ... then I come back to middle Ga. where we have never used a snow shovel. It is 30* this morning with no snow only heavy frost, maybe a few slick spots here and there.

LOL, ya dingus!

Just to be clear for folks reading. Ship them on commercial aircraft. not fit them to commercial aircraft. Although, that would be really fun to watch.

Spreading sand and road salt from a helicopter might work well? Could be part of our biz plan. "Lease a garbage-truck plow from us and get one free helosanding. Call today"

Man, hope the frost did not last long enough to hurt the farmers.

Really is just plain beautiful. Snow. A walk threw the woods after it has snowed. The snow reflects light so every thing is lit up. The snow muffles sound so alls you can hear is your own foot steps. Is just such a cool thing.

After that, it just sux.

a friend came to visit from australia,it was +40 celcuis when he left home.it was -40 celcius when he landed in winnipeg.i think he it still looking for his nuts.....

it snowed friday, wednesday and again today.
its been brutally cold and windy.
sucks when the kids car is hogging the warm shop. kicked it out tonight, gonna take it for its first official drive since i fixed it.bought it cheap with a bad trans.

Ludwig, we gotta do this! We can call it the "Anglo/American Euro snow blaster"

Wait, we get a fictitious company in Greece to apply for a grant/loan and then we, as executives as an almost existing company, pay our selves huge salary and then give our selves a huge bonus. Then dissolve the company. At the hearing we can then say; "Wait, huh?"

Oh man, we gotta do this.

LOL, we really shouldn't. Would be fun. Just to mess with em.

Dan I'm not trying to rub it in but look what is blooming in my yard. Im sorry......

Oh man Greg, that is good to see.

LOL Ludwig. That is the Latin spelling? Dang, took me 3 tries to spell "spelling" snork, not kidding. ((cracked me up))

TJ, saw a thing about generating electricity via heat rising like we were talking about.

http://www.cnn.com/2011/10/02/tech/innovation/solar-tower-arizona/index.html

I saw it on "Modern Marvels" but can't find it.

https://www.google.com/search?q=generate+electricity+with+hot+air

The thing that differs from what I suggested with most of these, is they use sort of impellers at the intake and not at the "exhaust" ?

Gonna try one. (little) But is a cool thought. No pun intended.
