I used to have one of those. The decal at the bottom shows a chicken and says "chickenpower", I guess suggesting that what it costs to run it is "chickenfeed". It does require gasoline, but not much. Made in Wisconsin and even less powerful than a Bikebug (26cc) engine which I also had. This is definitely pedal assist.

Boy that tandem attachment looks familiar. How did they copy me way back in 1909?

That Marathon just looks so right. It sets the bar high for anyone following you with a Genuine Vintage Fake.
 
So many inventive minds were at work in the early days coming up with so many different ways of doing things. Pretty amazing.

Jim, I'm still thinking about your tandem seat attachment. I may very well follow the idea with one myself. I'm picturing a split collar at the seat post with one half welded to the extension reaching back to the second seat.
