My slowly maturing Raleigh is going to have a Motobecane engine and transmission like that. Hopefully I will have the engine etc by this coming weekend.

I hope you don't mind if I add a photo of a famous old 'lightweight'. It didn't have pedals so it wasn't a bicycle but it has always held a place in my heart and this photo is a beautiful example.

Ah yes, the American rip off of the DKW RT125 after WW2. So unlike the BSA Bantam or the Minsk :)

It all worked out in the end as Fujitsubo in Japan copied the Hummer to produce their Eagle.
