I had a 2.3 petrol Mercedes camper van that was so quiet when you were standing, you had to dip the pedal occasionally to reassure yourself it was still there. I miss that engine and the driving position. But not the thirst of it or the rust.

A lot of people were looking at the copy of the bill of sale I have framed sitting on the windshield wiper, the car cost $1775.00 in December 1949. Just the chrome in the picture cost more than that today.
Inflation Greg, by 1963 a new Chevy Impala super Sport 327 with 4 speed was $2,300. my first new car. I love your Ford!

Jeez! I really am a cub, My first new car was a 1969 Camaro 327 four barrel three speed stick. At 100mph the front end got very light.

Rear end of 1969 Camaro broke the axle welds & dropped the body down on the tires at 100+ mph while crossing a river on a 2 lane bridge only damage was to tires and splash panels. God's hand not mine, mine were kinda' busy! Had the car repaired and on the road that same day. 2 tires and shocks required plus the welding shop bill. Fun car!

1969 Camaro was a half frame wonder. A said 327 wrong, it was a 350ci. When I was looking at cars, parents in tow because I was under 21 and couldn't sign a contract. Dad and Ma spotted a 1967 Oldsmobile Toronado and I am thinking that ain't no courting buggy. Run away!

Yeh Tom the one I mentioned was a 350 RS. I thought maybe the 327 was still available in certain location maybe but probably not....I never saw one though.

442 Olds was sweet as was the Buick Grand Sport of that era. My neighbor has a GS that he bought new as a kid and its all original and super slick driver.

Yeah, Rick, there are quite a few guys, most younger than me, who fly off the snow with skies.
I go out and watch the snow flyers occasionally but my hands get too cold to fly so I spectate instead.

As for Beavers and Otters, there are some scale guys and you never know what might show up at the field. Giant Scale WWII War Birds are very popular currently and you can always be sure to see a J-3 or two on any given day. The majority of planes however are typically the sport/aerobatic types.

I stumbled on this and decided to pass it on here. Could this pass as a motorized bike? Nope, don't think so. Every time I look at it what comes to mind is that music they played whenever the witch would ride her broom in The Wizard of Oz. You know, da-ta-da-ta da-ta-da-...well, it's hard to type music.
