Clean vintage, understated elegance. Well done! More fine tune details for my own builds is an ongoing process that I really enjoy.

A real beauty Moto, I am liking Taylar bikes. The tool box helps ensure a long wheelbase a real plus to my way of thinking. Fender struts are super strong.
Did some hard looking at your tires. Interesting tread pattern. Looked at Coker, didn't see them.
Thanks for the photos.

Hey Tom they are Electra brand, 2.35 but wider than most 2.35.

Yup. Electra Diamond. Go carefully. The sidewalls are thin. I had a pair on my "Twin" build and they blew the sidewall out in under 150 miles. Luckly; I was about 1/4 mile from home when it started to go and I caught it early. But in that SLOW 1/4 mile back home the thing became unrideable OR pushable in the last 50 yards with the tube poking out. they are very wide https://www.smmcyclery.com/product/...MI1v650oG24gIVDNVkCh2eqwUTEAQYAiABEgK1APD_BwE

Guys helping guys and it doesn't get much better than that!

I've had two blowouts in the last 10 plus years & both occurred on or within fifty feet of leaving my driveway, and just a couple of months apart this year. In both cases I've come to the conclusion that I'd over inflated the tires just prior to riding and my analog pressure gauge was under reading the pressures by almost 50 percent! I now use a quality digital pressure gauge. I was very fortunate not to have incurred injury or at the least, major damage to the bikes.

Ride safe, ride smart.

Electra Diamond tires have the look, but as Velodrome has pointed out at least in his experience has had side wall failure. Our machines exceed manufacturer design load limits. Velodrome did not specify the PSI he loaded the tires to.
It is a given from empirical data that side walls crush creating friction leading to side wall failure. Not often in tubeless tires. But in tubed tires there is built in friction.
The tube squirming inside the tire casing more friction.

I always load my tires to max PSI expecting a firm ride.
So that is why I ride my machine on a sprung fork and a Brooks model B190 saddle.

Learn something new everyday! So any preventative measures? Well I know duct tape won’t stop punctures. Will it help on the side wall to prevent blow out? Have a good Holiday everyone.
My recommendation is a 10% engineering safety factor in max PSI and sidewall inspection on every ride ( every ride ) and after about 100 miles switch them to a pedal bike. Replace with Felt Quick Bricks in the color of your choice. NEVER had a single issue with Quick Bricks. Also: These are the only tubes I use: https://www.mtbr.com/product/tires-and-wheels/tube/kenda/downhill-tubes.html !! 2.25mm thick of high quality rubber!! The Diamonds look FANTASTIC but at our weights and speeds I don't trust them.

Ok so what Your saying is take anxiety meds. Prior to my ride! I will keep a close eye on them. All kidding aside Thanks
I’m almost rode worthy. I am stuck at the moment ...until I get to Harbor Freight and get a new gear puller. I am using my first set of cotter pin crank arms....Got a crank arm stuck and my puller broke. So I’m stuck!
