Hey fellas... heres a pic of my personal bike that I call "The Bomber", because it's army green, rusty & real fast!
It's a 1970 Schwinn, it has a PK-80 engine, 36T sprocket, upgraded plug, wire & boot, I port matched the intake & exaust ports, I removed the exaust baffle (YES! it added a lot of power!) & I added a K&N style air filter.
My next mod will be to figure out how to beef up the ignition system!

So far, I've built seven bikes, & this one is the fastest!

very nice bike and that is a small small sprocket on the rear wheel.. I like it but I couldn't ride anything that fast. I'm just a slow kinda guy.

Q: Do you know the part # of the K&N style air filter?? I'm trying to make a match. Where did you get the filter?

I bought air the filter at kragen for $10.00.., it's a Chevy valve cover breather that I moded to fit...
The bars are super wide beach cruiser bars... I LOVE EM!!!
I love the stripped down look... No fenders, no bells & no whistles!
Actually, that's a lie... there IS a small brass bell hanging from the kickstand housing, (you can barely see it behind the main sprocket)... It's a old school biker superstition.
The bell keeps road gremlins off the bike!

Thanks!! I'll check out Shucks for that filter. Any hints on the mod?
I used a Dremmel tool to to make the air hole in the filter larger, then I carefully drilled two small holes on each side in between the filter pleats to mount it.
I used the old mounting screws and the old filter backer plate as a spacer.
Then I cut off the excess screw threads with a dremmel.
Here's some pics... I tried to show where the screws are.

You need to roll your self a pipe. Kind of like we built for Mr"C".(^) I've got templates. all you will need is pipe and auto hood skins off a wreaked car or truck and a oxy act. torch or wire welder.

There is actually a guy in my welding class who went to MMI & has all the fomulas for designing exact-tuned two stroke exaust pipes!
But I have to give him a engine so he can get measurments of the engine displacement, port diameter & length...
Another guy in the same class who used to work at FMF, says he can build it! I'll let you guys know what comes of it.

the custom exhaust pipe norman is talking about that bob and him made for me i did some testing with it and the stock pipe. i put on the stock pipe yesterday and it took forever to get to 27mph and did not run to good. i put back on the custom pipe norman and bob made for me and i got up to 27mph in 1/3 the distance and got up to at 32.4 mph in less distance then the stock pipe took to get to 27mph. the motor ran smooth for a 2 stroke and the custom exhaust pipe is about 1/3 quieter then the stock pipe. now that is one heck of a performance difference (^)

I bought mine from Grubee. Not sure if they are still available. Pretty much a bolt on.
