Hey Brett, if you want to hide the ugly coil you can make a cover like i did, i get this used brass/copper metal from work for free. When i get it, it looks like copper but when sanded looks like brass and would really set off the gold pin striping..... postage wouldnt be much to NZ so id be happy to make u one up and send it for free..... let me know.

Heres the copper as i get it from work.... its the stuff folded up behind the alloy pipe

Heres the first one i made and i sort of wanted it to look like hand beaten copper

Or another one i made but sanded it

that looks pretty cool Harry. how can I refuse such a nice part for free???!!! And yeah, it'll look good with the gold, also Pat's headstock badge is that colour too (I think it's made of brass)
hey, so is the retaining screw for that wire inside the spark plug cap or something?

Yes its in the cap, look inside, you should see the end of the screw. Then just screw the lead into the cap.

Or for a more vintage look you can do away with the lead (used cloth covered wire) and instead of a cap buy a crimped end fitting (dunno the proper name) and it screw to your spark plug. Looks way better but im no expert and heard that it may not work at optimal performance.... something to do with these chinagirls needing the boot..... i run without and it seems to be ok

You know, Brett, that fancy tool box is used to hide and carry the ignition module. Even has a nice easy to remove door for access. Run a longer spark plug lead up under the gas tank along the center frame tube and back into the top left corner of the box. Not to take anything away from the nice box and offer from Harry.

& here was me thinking it was for keeping tobacco in!

Hey I gather worksman is 3/16" chain, is that right? There are some packs of it on ebay for bmx's, but I dunno what length they are. What sort of length do I need for the pedal sprocket side?

I ALWAYS scrap the kit supplied chain, it's junk, then buy a 10' box of #41 diamond brand chain. I use it for both the motor and pedal sides. Looks cool, too, when both sides have the same good quality chain. Sounds like we have all been working on our builds tonight!

IIRC, Worksman chain is 410H. Also, 48.5" of chain is 97 links. That may or not be enough depending on what sprockets you're running.

For example my 36/18 gearing needs 102 links. A typical package of BMX/410 chain is 96-98 links. Some are up to 112.

IMO, 415 for pedal chain is ridiculous. 410 is the best pedal chain for bikes without derailleurs!

so I think I need to get something longer.
what are 410 & 415 ? are they grades or something?
hey would some 1/8 chain from one of the lowrider suppliers do the job for the pedal side? or do i have to stick with 3/16?

You should be able to get #41 anywere that sells small engines parts,NAPA,Farmsupply,GoKart supply, and any industrial supplier..............Curt

Check the priceses you probably get a 10' box for the same as the small precut box.

Ace Hardwhare even sells #41 chain master links and half links in the store! Sportscarpat showed me that you can even use #41 for the pedal side to replace the 3/8" chain for a Ballanced appearance. It does look better than using two different chain sizes.
