I'm canvas fabricator for boats but with the price of aqua fun going up, I will be tooling up for motor bike fabrication or repair. I owned a bicycle shop in the 80's and wish I still did now.
I hope it's not coming, but I want to be prepared to become the next India/Pakistan/China biking country.

Not in this lifetime. Before you put a lot of time, effort and money into it check on Craigslist. There are motor bikes listed here for less than it cost to build one on a daily basis.

English now pls lol j.k but yeah my reading comprehension is less than perfect, but do ya mean you sold 3 bikes fo3.45$ or 3 for 345$ or 3 @ 345$ each cuz lol maybe i shoulnt go back to the patch !!!!
87oc is 87 octane i think. so i think he was saying a gallon of 87 octane gas was $3.45

could be wrong though.

In SD, CA. it's $3.96-$4.00 a gallon for regular right now....this is gonna cost me nearly $200 round trip to DeathRace and back and my partner had to back out because of surgery that week. I'm not sure now that I'll be able to afford to make the journey......thinkin about riding the tandem there and picking up hitchhikers along the way to help with gas expenses.....seriously!!!

Gas prices SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gas prices are changing everyday here. Yesterday morning I paid $3.39. By afternoon it was $3.42 for regular. It cost me $92 to fill my work truck.

Speculators and Opec is whats killing us on gas prices, Lybia is just a drop in the bucket when t comes to oil supply, what is sad is that it's a known fact in the oil industry that we have enough gas and oil in Alaska and off shore alone to run this country for 100's of years at our current consumption, without using one drop from the middle east or anywhere else for that matter.

It's all about BIG Money BIG Greed and BIG Power and us Sheople are paying for all of it while the Politicians and News media spread their lies and deciept to scare us and keep us thinking we have no other options and that we must have oil from around the world.

What a mess we have made for ourselves here in this country.

IMO.....nothing more nothing less!

Peace

just think, when the middle east dries up, we'll still have plenty of oil.to me it's not such a bad idea. and then on top of it theres the drawbacks of obtaining the oil in terms of pollution.

sucks for the time being, but long term i don't think it's a bad thing.

I understand your point on this and many people share your view, and so do i to a degree, but I also think about all the idiots we have made rich enough to think they are gods to the point of terrorizing the rest of the western world and financing that terror with the money we give them for that oil, we pay them big money so they can start trouble then we send our young men & women over there so they can kill them, without their oil we would be just fine but without our money they would be camel ranchers & farmers of some type and would not be a threat to our way of life and the future of our kids and grandkids.

We have unintentionally given them the power to destroy our way of life and wreck our economy if we're not real careful.

Just my thoughts on this matter, I'm not a hater but I hate what I see happening to my country for the sake of this oil we actually dont need from them, once again it's all about money and the people pulling all the strings dont give a rats butt about our future they just care about lining their own pocket and then what ever happens just happens as long as they get what they want, we are digging our own grave by supporting these people, their belief system and values are nothing like ours and ours are what made us the greatest nation in the history of the world not theirs, they've been doing the same thing for 1000's of years with very little progress then the west comes along and makes them rich and how do they repay us, Jihad or supporters of it.........

Just my opinions nothing more nothing less.....

Peace

Thank you mapbike , well put .
I only want to add one thing to this thread. People in this country don't understand the system!!! We allow speculation as part of our captalist ethos , with the laws of supply and demand clear ,we as consumers are the ones to blame. They can only charge as much for gas as your willing to spend!
Dont have the source in front of me , but remeber reading during obama election that something like 89% of people in survey thought that the goverment set the fuel price and they were looking to new pres. (whomever at the time ) to set cap on gas prices.
How can you make it thru grade school in this country and not know how the countrys ecom. Works ? Kids alive today will live longer than oil will last at any afforidable rate, there just going to have to deal with it.
Tras. tech. (like mb's) are going to be vital for the future of our GNP
(and dismount soapbox)just my two cents (while that price last's)
