I did use a hand brake. The centrifugal clutch offers engine braking till it settles back to idle, so not a jerk but engine deceleration.
Glack,
Your always one step ahead of me; it would seem. ShiftyBikes are definately a part of the plan! SBP are the Shift Kit/Jack Shaft Kings and will likely make a kit for every legitimate drive system out there. But the ability to maximize your powerband the way that shifting gears allows is awesome and we'll support our systems w/ that option where possible. And it will be possible w/ the HF 79.
This "Basic Kit" is really just that; a 4 stroke version of a one speed "ChinaGirl". But w/ a bunch of widgets and whirlygigs wrought from the callused hands of your hard working neighbors. Another nice option w/ this kit will be to upgrade to a Grubee freewheel hub so that when you pedal w/o motor theres no drive train resistance. This Kit Doesn't Try to Be "Everything to Everyone". But my prediction is that, at an economical premium, it will offer unsurpassed quality and thereby offer an unequalled value.
It is likely, if our hard work is paying off, that by the time this product is approaching market that you'll be "looking into" some of our other concepts already in the works!
Stay Tuned! and Thanks for the Feedback! Evan FBC
