Ok, Pat got back to me & I've decided to go with a used stock Worksman INB frame which he is very kindly supplying to me,(you can't usually get worksman here in NZ) his Sportsman in frame tank for the Worksman, plus his Sportsman sprocket adapter & layback seat post. Plus a rear hub.
Yahoo! Looking forward to this. Still cant decide on a colour scheme yet, but I guess that'll come to me as it comes together.
youre a New Zealander? How about your countries colors then?...... Black and grey

hah! that's our sports flag, they're everywhere at the moment on people's cars, with the rugby world cup happening here this week.
(our national flag is red white & blue like your Australian one Harry)
There's a lot more Samoan flags being shown here at the moment though; Samoa's team have HUGE support here in the cup. Also being that they supply some of the best players in the world, they have a chance!

I had a quick look on EBay but cant seem to find them again. I got them from England and have bought 2 sets for my bikes. ill have another look later.... but heres a pic of the gold set i got....

I did just have a look on EBay (search: "Vintage bicycle pedals) , and there are a few rubber pedals w/out the ugly reflectors, but the shipping is around $40 from the U.S...... and if youre like me and do it on a budget thats a little more then i was willing to pay...... but they are out there

hey Harry, or anyone else out there, are all cranks the same size where they centre on the frame? I just wanna buy a basic one to suit the worksman frame, I guess a chrome one. Do most have 1/2" holes for the pedals or do some have another pedal hole size?
also is there a good standard size to get in terms of the length of them?

Different cranks can have different thread sizes..... and different frames can run different style cranks..... so since ive never seen a Worksman in real life i dont know what cranks they use, but im 99.99% sure they are a one piece crank (have a look in pictures and see if they run a 1 piece or 3 piece crankset).

The desired crank length can depend on many things so i guess its up to you. A shorter set may look more board track authentic.

I bought these cranks for Kellys bike, but i heated them to miss her 3hp Briggs engine, so they are a little shorter then normal, and it has a thread the same as BMX's use: 1/2" pedals

funnily enough aftar Harry's suggestion Im seriously considering black as the colour, with white grips, tyres, & pedals.

about decals & badges - I would really like to put metal badges on the tank. anyone knoiw where to source something like that or what sort of place to go to to get metal emblems made up?

The ones that have been recommended to me are these Bikeberry forks, apparently they have a good record. They ship to New Zealand too.
Im hoping that eventually some kind forum member will tell me which size fits the worksman INB frame :)

If you are going to go with a new springer you will want the Sun or Pyramid brand.ALL of the rest out there are complete junk.Get an original Schwinn,Columbia or Monark if you can.Or even a good repop of one of these.

Just bought the 48cc Chinese motor.
found some chrome wing badges with round black/white chequered speedway pattern centred in between the chrome wings. those will be the tank badges.
may get the chrome engine side cover kit from bikeberry too.
scheme is formulating: chrome springer fork, chrome badges, chrome engine side covers, pearl black or lacquer black frame & tank, white tyres/grips/pedals. so a mix of chrome, black, & white.

about the badges, on 2nd thoughts I realized that most (or all?) of these vintage bikes must've had either hand painted logos, or decals. so i think I'll go back to thinking about something along those lines.
maybe get it printed by a signwriter.

Once you have the art work, in the correct format, it's easy getting stickers made. As for badges Terry Jones is the best!

Pat! you really need to stop. You keep coming up with things I really really want, but can't afford. Did it cost a mint to get your seat Pan covered?
I try to standadrize as best I can to keep things resonable. The guy I am working with developed a pattern and a few test covers in cheaper material to practice and get all the details worked out. First one was more than I wanted to spend. Future ones should be more reasonable. It didn't break the bank. Sorry about the thread hijack.........

Been looking at pedals. Here's some pics of ones that I found on ebay. I will probably go for white ones, as the plan is to have white tyres/grips/pedals. The white ones are only in half inch, so Pat Im hoping the crank that you are supplying takes half inch.
If I had to go for black, the sort of teardrop shaped ones are the most appealing to me, I think.
