BB, an excellent question. I had not thought about wet or cold effects. Lots of snow and rain my way so will test. Thank you big time for bringing it up. Really and truly had just not thought about it.

Laughing at my self. Hoping for wet and cold so I can test a MB. That is either dedication or just crazy. I'm hoping it is the former but thinking it is more likely the later, snork
 
Thanks Jay! Really can't take to much credit. Belt drives have been around since the late 1800's. Saw a pic the other day of one on a steam powered bicycle. Thing was awesome and had no cover. Looked exactly like ours but from 1872 or some thing.

Speaking of the covers, yours is going to look great! Ray had sent me pics of his, alls I can say is wow. Looks fantastic. Really like the exposed look.
 
Ok, so I'm runnin' late on everything but the morning coffee! Dan's system is about ready to ship; his drive has some revisions. "WD2" has 3 highspeed/high load sealed bearings on the shaft w/ the all new, much lighter rear pulley. We've shed a lb and a half of rotating mass and will likely recover a 1/4-1/2 hp.

Looking GREAT fellas! The keyed output shaft on your new pulley looks like it would accomodate a sprocket or sheave. Could a rear belt drive be in the works? I hope so! You've mentioned an auto tranny. Snowmobile/auto ATV sytle perhaps? Hey, it's all good. Turn a ring sheave to drill and bolt onto a 56 T sprocket Chain or belt, customer choice.
 
Did you feel like you had to go with 3 bearings or is that just for peace of mind. I also saw you changed the type of bearings closest to the sprocket. What was the reasoning behind that?

Glack, speeds are in the mid thirties w/ current gearing. I'm confident that reducing the flywheel effect of the lg pulley will recover some of the take off power and help acceleration. We can then see what top speeds are w/ the use of top speed gearing. I've not messed w/ jetting and the newest pipe is not as free flowing as the 1st str8 pipe so it isn't running as lean. I still plan on doing some tests on the carberator.

Whizzerd, Good ideas! We do want to offer many products and options!

Felton, The bearing on the o/p side wasn't the type that I'd wanted so I planned the switch. No problems but I anticipate that it wouldn't have lasted as long. Essentially your right the 2 bearings on either side of the back plate really do most of the work and the outside is along for the ride (piece of mind).
 
No, I did try to utilize some of the governer set up as linkage, which does work but the pivot isn't up to it and it leaks oil. So I'm reconfiguring that set up. The idea is that the more stock parts that can be utilized the easier the price can be kept down. If, however, something doesn't work it isn't a bargain at any price. But w/ my set up I'm getting full throttle rotation and so far as I can figure the little pivot that comes out the top of the case is attached to a gear that limits rotation and thats it. That's the governer.

Where we are almost everyone (not me) has lost their license for drunk driving or speeding--this is an outlaw form of transport so they remove the pedals too. i argue every chance i get that then you have an illegal motorcycle and besides you miss half the joy of these machines.

I sure appreciate all the hard work and dedication of those who strive to improve on and develope new products, and helping others to troubleshoot occasional problems.
 
It aint no thing. You guys all give out great ideas and feedback. If we make cool, quality products, at a reasonable cost, people will buy'em. That's what I'm banking on (don't let me down)!
