Yesterday a Farmers Branch cop finally flaged me down on a side street. I rode up next to his car, and before he could say anything I said, I know you want to know 2 things. How much, and where can you get you one lol.

He ask me all the usual MB questions, and was very friendly to me. I never got any sense that he thought I was doing anything wrong. He said with gas prices the way they are they'll probably be more of these riding around soon.

I got generally better vibes from him than I got from either the bicycle shop or the scooter shop I've showed my bike off at.

Still haven't had any problems with the police in tucson yet. Probably cause I am a loyal 20mph club member plus i ride with full face motorcross helmet and bright neaon green shirt and obey every traffic law probably better then I do when driving. And for night i have 2 red strobes for the back and two headlights to see those pot holes at 20mph before i hit them.

I took my new friction drive with the 2.5 hp harbor freight greyhound out for a real ride today. Actually I was out several times.about five one mile rides and a couple of two mile rides. Now that I have everything worked out, it is the bike I always wanted. Well since I started here. It will climb the hills unassisted and it will move around about 15 to 20 mph with pull all along the band. This is the bike I wanted so that if I wake up and want to ride to the lake. I fill up the tank and take off. Don't have to worry about the battery drain, just go. If I get low on gas, I can stop and buy a half dollar's worth to get me home.

The bike starts and pulls itself so I don't have that clutch thing I had with the china girl bike. Always afraid the bike wouldn't start and I'd be battling that thing. So I love my bike and it will only do 15 to 20 I'm sure.

A bike has to be reliable to be fun. To be enjoyable you have to have confidence that your bike will get you home and not leave you stranded at the side of the road..

Think I read the BGF front wheel friction drive does 20. I am a big fan of low an' slow but hit the gas a lot too.

Yesterday on a long down sloping and winding road, could not figure out why I was going WOT. LOL, people are nutz and I am just some of em.

I also guilty of riding wot at times. I just got home from a 30 mile ride and the last two miles were at 32-33. I had a good reason though, it was starting to rain. I have not reset my average speed on the speedometer for the last 400 miles and it reads 20.3 mph. So maybe I will not be kicked out of the 20 mph club.

Elmo,
We'll let you off with a warning this time. Just don't let it happen again :)

do you know of any motor kits that advertise they do 20mph or less? i live in illinois and there is a law stating i cant go over 20mph so i'm in !.xx.

Get a 50+ tooth sprocket then you'll have low end torq! Pretty sure AzBill used that...I intend on using mine when I get my next kit soon.

For me WOT on the flat is about 30-32 mph. I can ride WOT every chance I get, and my average speed will only be about 25 mph. Hills, traffic lights, stop signs, traffic, turns, and rough roads all cause the average speed to drop.

I here you about low and slow. However the only time I rode with you I was doing in the high 20's and you were always waiting up for me!

Ok ,I see how to stay in the club in the last 10-15 postings how this 20 mph average works, you go 4 miles at 5 mph and 1 mile at 80 mph and divide by 5 =20mph(I will never catch up if I do the 5mph thing lol)
