Getting old is rough

I’m meetin a lot now, seems only 45+ and under 25. I dunno where all the middle aged people are. Many among the younger generation have the woke mind virus. They like to say they’re lesbian rather than standard “I have a boyfriend”. Good thing those afflicted are eager to make it known asap…

Going to get in the habit of making a consent video or agreement with every new interest. Dating got dangerous. It only takes an allegation to ruin a man’s life. Scary stuff. I guess you can’t trust anything that can bleed for a week and not die from it.

Yeh… Anger has been difficult. When you remove negativity you see things. Today as I came to a stop a Hispanic grandma was pushing a stroller with a LOUD squeaky wheel. Well it bothered me the little I heard it so gave her a mini 4oz can of wd40 on its last legs not enough for anything i ever need but just enough to fix that, said OMG is that driving you crazy it drove me crazy in seconds all the way from the car! “Yes!!!” told her how to use it and she did. She was smiling and waving eagerly as I rolled away. Made her week I bet. Woulda heightened agitation alternatively. Have to choose calmer style and well if it helps others sometimes too why not.

Tom,
As a guy who's walking is closer to a controlled fall than an actual stride anything that requires a quick getaway is now a distant dream. However if someone were to yell fire, I would have to strongly suggest that no one get in my way of the exit. They would be in considerable personal peril if they did. Fear often adds wings to a person's feet.

Steve.

Steve,
The controlled fall is the common mode of locomotion, but style of locomotion is most important.

That would be me, I just turned 83 and still get on my bike acking hips or not everyday. But now feal like Steve, I cut my wrist a while back just below my right thumb, healed fine, but later it started hurting, turns out the metal edge I cut on must of went deep and must of scraped what little was left of carlidge, bone on bone now. I am just plain wore out all my joints hurt now. New knee, new shpulder, and now, they will fix my thumb joints ( seems more common then I thought ) I have seen Steve's conditon and feal for hime everytime we here frome him..............Curt

Got back scuba diving about a week ago. And before that did some windsurfing. No the nerve pain in hand is still mostly the same.

The incision area by elbow is what needed 8 months to become less sore. I would hope to say that the surgery was not useless, but that the path of the ulnar nerve can have multiple impingement points.

So I go for another MRI and Nerve Conduction Test, then see the spinal surgeon about cervical spine issues.

The Briggs I may still get to doing the valve grinding to adjust lash and get the bike running again. Thumb still swollen, but nail grew back fully and not as much or often any much pain to stop me from wrenching again. A hand surgeon would only operate if torn ligament or tendon, but otherwise mentioned Voltaren Cream.

Pumpkins for cooking from garden are just nearly used up. The pumpkin ice-cream and pumpkin waffles tried besides pumpkin pie, leaves something else to try with a couple left over.

So I had a low dose CT scan in August. GP said nuthin and then I get a email from a cardiologist that my pace maker doc alerted. They think I have an artery in my heart getting plugged. Got prescribed a statin med and now more scrutinization in the offing. Stress test.

Last two days I have stacked a cord of fire wood in the shed. Most of it today, I am easing into this project. The dropped pile is getting a bit smaller. Got to work harder Sat. as rain is coming in Sunday.

I’m still kicking just have had a lot going on, I feel bad I haven’t had time to do much on bikes. Since school started in August I’ve been focusing on getting everything done before I retire, June 30 will be here fast.

Well I stacked 3/4 cord of split firewood today and my lower back was starting to take notice. This was day 3. Rain on Saturday will be a nice break.
The 2 cord pile is shrinking to where one 12'x 24' tarp half used covers the remaining pile.
Weather permitting Sunday will see the remainder in the woodshed.
Bought wood from the seller 3 times now and this load exceeds 2 cord by a 1/3 of a cord, is clean (no dirt) and exceptionally dry.
With the shed I am using now, with a temporary ramp fastened to the entry. I load my two wheel barrow 8CF heaped right into the shed. It greatly speeds the shed loading. I only figured it out last year. :) Before it was one arm load at time.:(
Basking in the warmth of wood heat.
