I find that kind of rubber band suspension very interesting and I've heard that it gives a very good ride, only I wouldn't know where to begin with trying to find a suitable suspension band down here in New Zealand.

Wow, a tandem moped. I like it. :) With a sidecar fitted on that would make great family transportation.
 
For suspension bands, try a speedway parts supplier, this is an English made frame, and there are people racing in NZ:

That 1902 Blomster looks like somebody's motored bike conversion from long ago.

Thanks by the way for sending me all the information on rubber suspension bands. I haven't gone through it properly yet, but I can see it's going to be useful.

I'm with you. I suppose you'd get used to it, but the factories that made front friction kits all put the mass as centrally as they could.
