where did u get such a big sproket from
the sproket and hub is manufatured by AZusa. they make bigger ones too.

I'm still having problems trying to get the HF engine to idle. I think it is becoming too lean when I open the choke. maybe i should just returning this one and getting a new one.

Looks so awesome Max. Really does. You have me convinced to trying some crazy stuff with BAS. (last "s" is sprockets, snork)

My Throttle assembly is really, really bad. Truly sucks. It's bad. Really, really bad. So I am constantly having to adjust the idle but nothing like your describing. When in doubt, I ask TS then do some thing different. Then am forced to admit he was right. (is a bummer, I very often bet him on these things)

Could testing with no air filter in a sand/dust free place help? I dunno just a thought. I love this thing an' hating to see ya frustrated with it. Got it to do 5200 RPM today on a level and was just humming wit' dat HF grunt!

Don't give up the ship until your socks are wet! (Or your relief arrives because then he is on the clock and why bother?)

I haven't tried that. good idea, I'll try it. please keep the suggestions coming. I tried running the motor without the air cleaner and no joy. I'm going to try a muffler tip on my straight pipe.

Hi MaxPower,

It appears the HF 79 CC is in fact not consistant, as I have talked to several that had to take the motor back for an exchange. I know of one rider that was shocked at the differences between the motors, and one did almost 5 MPH more on top end as did his earlier motor.

Looking forward to your pictures,

Have fun,

Awesome Max, looks great. The huge sprocket really sets it off.

Just turned 50+ hrs on my HF. Thing is great. Was surprised that a 4 smoke had as long a break in period. (around 100 miles or so) are you finding that?

Back to the idle thing. Was talking with Elmo on another thread looking for replacement spark plugs for the HF. I realized I had never checked the gap. It was about half of what it should have been. Smoothed the idle right out. Along with cleaning up the exhaust path, got a high speed of 43.3 MPH today by GPS. Couldn't get it to repeat but second was 37 some thing. Oh, also removed the heat shield and trued rear wheel. Not into the speed thing but nice to have it if needed.

Wow 43.3 followed by 37. My best has been 37. Should get my bike back together after paint soon. Had to put an engine in my1999 suburban and a clutch in my dually this past week so havent had any time to work on bikes lately.

Really lovn' the HF Elmo. Got stronger as miles went on it. I am doing 5,000+ RPM. Ray hit 6K. Smooth, cheap and strong like bull, snork.

Gonna start a thread. Sorry for rambling on yours Max. Hey, can you post a vid? Would love to see your build in action! Gets my vote for uniquest spring build.
