Fitting Torque Converter on Vertical Mounted 212cc

Catching anyone up since my last post. After mounting the 212cc, i found that the COMET torque converter would not fit. The back of the plate butts up against the seat post. Theres no adjusting, flipping the plate, etc that will make it work. So after todays research, here are the options.

1. I was told that the stock torque converter that comes with the Death Row kit is a tad bit longer, without the groves that would offset the converter, would fit perfect. He said hes 80 percent sure it would fit. - cost 83 dollars on gasbike.com https://www.gasbike.net/products/transmission-for-212cc-death-row

2. I found this torque converter on go kart USA thats seems pretty legit. With a flat plate the groves (that were originally on the COMET) wouldnt offset the placement. My only concern is that it may to be to short and again, the back panel would hit the seat post. gokartusa.com

3. I found this centrifugal clutch on amazon for a 79 cc. Being that the plat is short, flat, it would clear the seat post no problem. Does anyone know if this 79cc would also work with the 212cc ? https://www.amazon.com/TRANSMISSION...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=60XPMJZ08BYAHH1DQ1ET

4. The more savage of all ideas, but a buddy said i could try cutting the fins off the COMET torque converter and flip the plate so that it doesnt hit the seat post. The only thing with that is that it would be highly nonadjustable, and if it doesnt work i couldnt return it.

All great options, what do think? Does any one have any experience with a similar issue ?

If I remember correctly the 79cc has a smaller diameter output shaft, go to HF and download the specs for the 79cc.

So I could either purchase that from gasbike, ditch all the components except for the plate, then use the torque converter from comet. Or I could return the comet, just purchase the blue one. Hmm. Are you certain the comet transmission would be compatible with the plate from gasbike? Also have you read the specs for the blue one, seems next gen for Motobikes

How about if you turn the the converter and drill new mount holes, would it clear then? Seen a few guys do that.......Curt

im hesitant. Anything that has to do with modifying the converter plate, if it doesnt work, then i wont be able to return it. im thinking ill do a bit more research, work on everything els - carb, throttle cable, disk breaks etc. then once tax returns arrive, maybe look at purchasing the plate and transmission from gokartusa

Here is the plate,212 and a cvt. I always run a rear sheave but no problem goin with a rear sprocket.

is that the plate from gas bike ? it doesnt rub on the seat post or back of engine ?
That’s from Gasbike. It is what you need. It does sell separate but that’s a deal. You could save other parts for next build!
so i can use the transmission parts that came with the COMET just swap out the mountin plates obviously ? Is this plate from gasbike a tad bit longer to clear the seat post ?

Here is a 79cc with your setup. You will need a longer 5/8 keyed shaft with a threaded end. This way you thread a nut on the shaft to hold rear comet pulley. The the other end I cut to length and use a 5/8 collar.

Im not quit sure the length ill have to double check. but if i have to modify this in anyway i would rather just return the COMET and purchase the other plate, thats designed to make up for the space as described in the description.
