I'm building a 2 wheeled Urban Assault Vehicle with dual 40mm grenade ammo cans in the back to hold 70 lbs. of LiPo's (72V 60Ah). When it's done, I'm gonna go crush stuff with it. LMAOWow. What are you building man!
You and me both as these batteries have the propensity of bursting into flames, like a fireworks show gone wrong, if they are disrespected in any way. LOLI'm very interested in the battery you're going to build.
Crikey Mister! Each ammo can will be holding a 72V 30Ah 25lb battery bank. Together both banks will be capable of dumping 300A into the motor shown above for up to 1 minute. Going from 9.5HP to 19HP at the twist of a wrist. That will be my passing gear. LMAO
My "bicycle" now weighs in at 125 lbs. With no motor, motor mount, batteries, brakes, controller, cycle analyst, sprockets, pedals, crank arms or lights. It will easily cross the 225 lb. mark when it's finally done. What have I gotten myself into? LOLCrikey Mister!
Thanks Paul. Doing my best to make an electric bikes range a non-issue, once and for all. I figure 48-60Ah worth of batteries is a good place to start. I'll just deal with the extra weight.now that is awesome looking, your idea for the amo boxes is pure genius, unique and stylish, that is going to be one heck of an electric bicycle mike
My batteries will weigh 50 lbs for 48Ah or 75 lbs for 60Ah. Each box holds 72V 30Ah maximum. I'll push that motor as far forward as I possibly can as long as I don't have any long chain issues cause that bike is long long.Mike,
From my experiences from my beach cruiser, try to mount the motor as far front as possible. I carry two batteries on my rear rack which weighs around 40 lbs and sometimes it feels like I'm riding a unicycle because all the weight is in the back. Your bike is going to be one bad ash ride when it's done.
The good thing I like about your batteries is you won't have to get a Kevlar bag when charging them since they'll be in metal ammo boxes.
I have a few stairs that I will be driving up, head on. Not a flight of stairs though.long as you don't have to carry it up a few flights of stairs like I do my electric bicycle all will be good
Just like I did on my last bike. Maybe this time to also include hood scoops? LOLmight want to drill some vent holes in the bottom of the boxes so they're not sealed up in case things get hot.
