Re: October 2013 Race At Grange?

really? :) You are going to the sat Dec 7th Willow Springs 1/4 mile oval race?
i hope so cause you missed every race this year, all 5 of them.

Your bro is having all your fun on Your bike!
I meant the grange race, I don't do ovals because of my bad vertigo. I'd get way to dizzy.

Ya I know he really likes my bike but in a few weeks he's gonna like it much much more hahaha

Come on Dave, it's a big 1/4 mile oval, not some dinky little 1/8 miler. :)
You will barely know you are going in circles.
The Dec 7th Willow Springs event is much more than a race anyway with all those access roads to cruise around and lots to see and do.

Also the first big race of 2014 is at Willow Springs Go Kart Track on Sat April 12th where we had our first California event on June 18th 2011.

What is your input on the first 2014 Grange race on either Sat May 24th or May 31st?

Put up a poll and see what people want. If its Memorial Day weekend the 24th, then the chances of me having the day off are slim.

I was looking on my phone calendar which doesn't show holidays and Memorial day weekend would be a bust.

Thanks, so the 2nd 2014 race day is probably Sat May 31st then at Grange Motor Circuit.
Does anyone have any objections to that?

Sat April 12th is because the Whizz In is on the April 5th and 6th weekend.

Sat Oct 18TH 2014 is our usual weekend at Grange.

I had as much fun as you could have in the desert.
Whats the deal with selling your 11 hp water coolie Morini to Norm?

What are you planning on racing or are you moving up to racing
real motorcycles with M1GP? :D

I love the desert in spring and fall.
Death Valley is my favorite place on the planet.

6am on race day looking out of my 360 degree view desert townhouse
which has all the comforts like air mattresses and fresh brewed coffee.

Hardly anyone awake and the moon is still up.........

Neil:

You might be surprised. The Big Wheel only does about 35 mph, but I ride it to work on nice days like any other moped. Probably fun on the oval though.
Hi Brad, the only trikes I have ridden were scary.

We have never had a 3 wheeler at the Socal Motor Bicycle Races
so I really wouldn't know where to put one on the track in terms of
what class.

We do love the innovative builds like this and will get you on the track
somewhere so you have Fun.

Fun, affordable, low risk racing is what it is all about.

Can you get a wheel off the ground in the corners? :D

Re: October 2013 Race At Grange?

A BIG thank you to Neil for putting on another fantastic event!

AND a special thanks to Jeff for all his help!

AND..... to Scotto: I SMOKED YOU!!!!!!!! See you in April!

We had so much fun.

This is really a first class event, showcasing so many innovations
and artistic expressions, and also some full-on racing machines and
riders, who put on an impressive effort in that direction. Our Diesel bike
clanked and puffed it's way across the finish line, and was not in last place!

Success!!
You got it Roland and Timm.
Always a pleasure to see the Big Boys and what works of art
you guys have come up with.

I am privy to what Big Boy Cycles has in the pipeline and this
motorized wonder is gonna drop your jaw on the ground in amazement.

Turbo bike, diesel bike ...... you gotta see their new bikes!

Re: October 2013 Race At Grange?

Been talking to some GoPed racers to be included in the Sat Dec 7th
Willow Springs 1/4 mile paved oval RacEvent.

Any of you motorized bicycle guys are encouraged to bring your Peds
to build a new race class.

We do have lots of track time if you are up for it and no extra race
entry fees to play.

PS: I am copyrighting the word racevent so nobody steal it OK? :D
I may patent it in Australia too......

Re: October 2013 Race At Grange?

Damn, I forgot to give the Amateur and Intermediate class
winners the 5 stainless cap heads for their 1st place billet cover trophies! :(

I also forgot to give them to the 3 people who bought these
2013 SMBR covers on Oct 19th at Grange.

Only five SMBR 2013 covers were made and they are all sold.

James got his mailed with a T-Shirt and he sent me this pic of his
bike today.

Fred CR Machine head on a The Jake Bike motor.

Will make another SMBR design when I get some spare cash.

Looks really good and runs even better! :D

Neil... I'm sure many of us would like to see a COMPLETE LIST of where all the racers finished in their races. (I know you have it written down somewhere). :)

Hey Norm, you have been officially appointed the SMBR "Official Result Poster"
Your duties start at the next race on saturday Dec 7th at Willow.
Thanks :)

The results are written in Travis's chicken scratch on my yellow note pad with
several crossed out sections and corrections.....

It's a solid hour to decipher it and I am busy with my new motorized bike biz
selling kits, motors and parts. Making parts price lists, etc, etc....and getting
the next race going.....as well as still dealing with the aftermath of the last one....
and making a few bucks furthering medical advances. ;)

Yep, we need some racers to step forward to help out a bit.
#14 Will aka Sosauty used to help but he retired to Alabama.
The rest of you barely have time to return a text, email or answer
the phone. :D

You seem to have no problem spending hundreds of hours on the internet spamming your races... Please use ten minutes of your 'spam time' to post the results for all the people who paid to race (or donated prizes) to your race!

I really don't think it's too much to ask of a race promoter to simply 'post the results'. :)

Re: October 2013 Race At Grange?

Neil, Please DO NOT post results of the race. Someone seeing in print that they placed lower on a list of racers could have their feelings hurt which in turn may contribute to low self-esteem and feelings of inadequacy. The same emotional distress can carry over to non-racers or sponsors when they see their favorite rider or engine listed in a lower placing position. You may even consider in future events throwing the yellow flag a few laps before the end of each race so the field can bunch up and cross the finish line all at the same time. That way you to could post your race results the next day with a 1st place next to everyone’s name. Also being that “everyone is a winner” it would certainly contribute to an overall sense of accomplishment and euphoria for all racers, spectators, sponsors and race fans alike. Again I implore you, DO NOT post results of the race! Thanks in advance ~BF

Love your post but even better I was thinking that everyone should get a trophy and prize cause all the racers are winners! :)

Thanks for the prodding. :)
