I only went to McDowell Mountain park a few times. I liked the "one way" trails. They had some of those at the White Tanks too.
When I first moved to AZ, I tried to pull a jumping cholla seed out of my shoe with leather gloves. Big mistake.

Well it was one hot muggy weekend here but I still made some progress.

The exhaust is finished , I ended up making pie cuts to get the
curves done, then wrapped it thermal wrap. If you look above the
muffler you can see where I cut the rear chain stay to make clearance
for the drive chain and reinforced it.

I just received a catch can from BMI Karts so I will started on the bracket
this week, and order some parts from AGK Karts to go with the carb I picked up from them earlier.

Now I'm getting closer!!

Ran into a problem with the front sprocket , I need to run a 25 tooth
to get a little more clearance and lift the engine about 1/8".

Wired up the on / off switch and kill switch. mounted and plumbed the
catch can ( From BMI Karts $15.95 ).

Received the throttle cable and sleeve ( From AGK karts , about $ 9.00 )
If you are using this carb I ran the cable through the cap and measured
1.35 from the bottom of the cap to the top of the sleeve and soldered
the sleeve on.

Made all the shims tor the drive line,, ran all brake lines and put tank sealed in the gas tank. Sorry for the Picture will get better ones later.

If things go good I hope to test ride it next weekend.

I still need to make a guard for the clutch, cut off all spare brackets and play with the carb jetting
It's runs just a little rich but this thing rips other than that it's all good.

Very Nice Bill! You wouldn't want to help me with a motor mount for a BTR build would you? I'm trying to get my schedule re arranged. for the last Saturday of the month. Truckd is coming into town and I'm hoping to meet up with him at the Pavilions on the 28th Should be acceptably cool then and I'll have the Chief out.

I am thinking , I can't wait to see the Chief!! Let me know what time
you will be going ( early is good like last time ), I have not been there for awhile. I have the time off so far unless work gets out of hand , this
has been one rough week.
I'm bringing a chair and lock this me.

See you next weekend

First long ride

Well after installing a chain guard and cut off all extra brackets
this morning I took Rocket out for a long shake down , so I grabbed
some tools and though then in my back pack and took off.
This rides and runs great the only problem was when I over filled the tank
, the gas expanded and leaked out the vent tube and stalled the
engine so I dumped some gas out of the tank , gave it about 10
pulls on the rope and I was back on the road.
I have no chain vibration on this bike , I would guess that is because
I do not have a chain tensioner gear on the rear sprocket.
When I came home I removed the chains and lubed them up
since they were good and warm reinstalled them so now the
bike is ready when I am.
