Hi...Another small job was to fit up the gear shifter....this was originally on a foot peg like a modern Harley...with a shift lever a connecting rod 10" long with ball joints on each end and a small lever on the gearbox shaft of the Virago XV250....have just used the shift lever and the small clamp lever...welded them together and it works like a treat...the right length for my foot to be on the crank pedal and my toes under or over the shifter.....DD

Sticky Gloves, no pun you can get them at the local motorcycle shop, they have rubber treads on the palm and fingers very advisable!

If I move over there can I be your friend? That is just way way to coooool! just one thing DD, put a rear fender on it, the bike is big! (which is a good thing!) and there is alot of realistate to cover, a rear fender would take up some of that un filled space.
It is a masterpiece though.

Your video link doesn't work, what was the actual title for your video so I can search for it.

Absolutely love the bike by the way, hopefully one day I'll get to see this in the flesh. Outstanding job.

P.S are you guys anywhere near this heat wave? I'm glad it's not just us Queenslanders that experience uncomfortably stinking hot weather. Lol

Thanks!

I can’t wait to see the one where it’s roaring to life!!!

truckd- 28F isn’t cold, around here that’s where I make the switch from sweater to coat...

(attached image from January 2009) “-)

Harry- Yikes, 50C/122F is hot by anyone’s standard!

A friend recently sent this to me, Warning: It contains words that wouldn’t pass the filter here, so it’s just a link:

http://www.fromthehomefront.net/the-short-diary-of-an-englishman-in-australia-hysterical/

It lead me to looking up a Celsius to Fahrenheit converter page, Ha! “-)

We hear Aussies complaining about Whinging Poms, but nobody ever mentions the whinging Aussies we get over here. Perhaps there's a breed of human that's always travelling, looking for a non existent paradise, regardless of nationality.

Cold? Never reached the sub arctic levels here, but I've ridden a motorcycle in minus 20C. Hot, I've worked on vacuum forming machinery, climbed inside to work on forming tools while they were at operating temperature, 100+C, going somewhere like Tassie wouldn't be a shock to my system, but equally, I wouldn't go there out of choice either.

Hi Ludwig II ... These days we dont use " W.P. " as its classed as raciest here...some of my best friends come from England mostly retired now....very skilled in metal trades ..there are whingers in all races....Tassie has its fair share of bush fires every year......DD
