I'll give you that one Safe,
your custom frame is an exception. & looks fast sitting still. I didn't think my Tuscon bike was ugly....but it was a bit bulky in the batterybox.

+1 for fiberglass construction.

my next race, your position at the start will be determined by your place in the heats. it's simple enough to point out who shouldn't be on the front line and move them back. once this is actually enforced, i don't think anyone's gonna try to elbow in where they don't belong.
Thank you and im looking forward to this race since this is going to be my next race. I already have the days off work and unless the race date changes Ill be here - there or something like that.

Also watching the last race on video the top 5 - 2 strokes were all together for most of the laps. Their lap times were as fast as the mid range 10hp and under, (around 1min 9 sec per lap).. What about throwing those top 5 in the 2 strokes in with the midrange?
Then the box stock 2-strokes could race with the entry or cruiser fun class.
This would probably be 10 or so racers per heat.

Just a thought......

i plan on getting to adams before my next race and running the track different ways to make it more pass-friendly, because i don't think the race should be won in the straights. most of us know how much it sucks to follow someone who's slower in the corners, and then be overpowered in the straightaway. i know i coulda easily buzzed a bunch of rear tires through the S's if i wanted to be a jerk.:)

i also promise you guys this.

every rider's meeting, i'll listen to what you guys want, and if a majority wants a change, we'll change it. don't be afraid to speak up. i'm not doing this to make money (obviously :(, ) i'm doing this because i love to race.
Ok nevermind my last post about mixing the top 5 2 strokes in with the mid class. I got excited that your heat races are actually gonna mean something and to use it on the main to determine starting positions I didnt even read the rest of what you put down.
$40 to race, thats ok with me. Time for me to heal up and check out my bike.

Baird can you also see if their speakers work on the p.a. We couldnt hear you on the top of the track.

T-Shirts are good, if you don't win any trophies you still "win" the shirt just for being there.

I agree it's all about numbers. Lot's of stock or near stock bikes will make things better.

The "monster bikes" are fine as long as they are off doing their own thing and not annoying the mainstream.

--------------------

What I'm doing is (for now) so exotic and bizarre that I know (based on the insane development required) that no one will show up with anything like my bike. But hopefully it might inspire someone like Dan Hanebrink (or someone younger and more ambitious) to start a company that builds something like it.
What exactly is a "monster bike" and where can I get one? Sounds like a fun bike to race around Halloween!

i've got an EMT for this race, and the hospital is 5 minutes away.
Ryan #5 ( Arrow Motorized Cycles) who crashed hard in the same banked corner that Dave dislocated his arm on went to the hospital on the Monday after the race.

The bones in his foot were splintered and he is going to be in a boot for a while.
His hand was only badly bruised.

Did you know that?

That really sucks!! I'm pretty sure that was the crash where his handle bar tip caught my shirt sleeve while we were both going around the turn... I think he tried to turn off the track right as I was going past him on that side. Sorry Bro!! :(

Hey Norm, "stuff" happens when you are on the track and no one is to blame.

Ryan is only 21 and he is going to recover just fine. Those kids bounce back. :)
He will be back on the bike by the next race for sure.

Jake Busey has had some really bad luck in the last 2 Grange races crashing into a fallen rider and sliding out on some spilled gas which took a following rider out.........
It did make a very cool pic though, I call him the "Flying Busey" now. :D

Hopefully, you are wearing good protective gear when you go down and walk away with no serious injuries.

I do totally agree with Baird that everyone must wear all the gear.

damm! just when i wanted to install a jump! safety jumps in. lucky that all the crashes happened at slower speed's. maybe instead of a jump, some boulder's on the track would be better. yes 85+ mph is a bit much, fun to watch, prob. funner to ride. as long as you ride safely where? here. dennis

safety, you won't be racing against luke unless you want to. the unlimited class is open to anyone on any bike.

you might have to ride next to him for a second during practice, but we've never had a problem with anyone being too agressive in practice runs. everybody's nice and respectful.

the unlimited class will never dominate the "sport."

it's there so gearheads who build crazy stuff have a place to show it off.

the 2 stroke china class and the beginner class will probably be the biggest classes for a long time to come, because that's what the average guy is building.

you're putting waaay to much emphasis on the unlimited bikes.

if you're worried about going fast, maybe we can put together a tricycle race...:)

it's gonna be the same, 2pm till 10pm.

if more riders show up we're gonna run much more efficiently.

the last race, with the small turnout, we could afford to take more time between heats.

hoping to finish up by 9:30, so we've got time to pack up and for the band to play before they shut off the lights.

even if you can't race, it's worth it just to watch!

i'm going to have some different classes for the china bikes this time.

basically, a beginner, novice, and expert class.

we've got some very fast riders on very fast, purpose-built race bikes, and for the beginners and the not-so-fast guys, there's gonna be a class where you'll have a chance to trophy.

trophy?

yup. gonna have real trophies for every class.

at other races you're lucky to get a "thanks for coming."

at mine, you'll walk away with a trophy and some cool stuff for your efforts, instead of just a broken bike and a sunburn...

Baird that's great!! Is the band still gonna play at the race? I believe I have the time off work for this race, I should be cleared from the doctors to race.

yup, band's still gonna play. got some other things in the works to make this the best race so far.

there's gonna be a big ebike turn-out, too, with Thud and some other guys coming from a long way away, and i hear some of them might even be bringing gassers and/or bikes on the same level as the fast two strokes to compete in the fast china class.

the competition in that class really hyped a lot of guys up for it. it can only get better!

you better get the time off for it. you won't wanna miss it!

those trophies look great, i wish i had my old BMX and motocross trophies to donate to the cause, they went to goodwill a long, long time ago. so what class is my watercooled morini going to be in? i'm not quite sure if i have it straight, being that is is a all stock non altered engine. I'm looking forward to this race.
