so I guess I'll have to ark the piston top at the ports if I don't wont bairdco sucking me up his carb and spitting me out the exhaust -at Willow Springs the first 3 bikes were way out in front I was 4th in the heat group 1 and broke the 10 tooth key before the main- hope to finish better at Grange
I think bairdco was in group 2 so I don't know how fast I would need to be to keep up
I hope that his motor has weak lower rpm tork or I'm had
i was topping out at 40ish in the longest straight at willow. had it geared low for the corners. the slippery, dirty track beat me.

i crashed the first lap of the main, and still got 4th. i was gaining on the top 3, but not enough to count.

bigger track, better bike, more prep time. and a balls-out attitude. my aflac just kicked in at work. it pays me if i get hurt...:)

careful with the piston shaving. you need two. first one to find the sweet spot, and second one after you wreck the first.

my bikes were the fastest (top speed) china's at the last two races, and this one's on a whole 'nother level. all's i gotta do is keep it on the track.

i don't plan on spilling any blood on this race...

(edit) can i run the unlimited class with a tweeker china doll?

THIS is E-tards willow race bike:

The Picture you posted was My Deathrace bike that burned in touscon :(
(the wheels are the exact same ones though now that you mention it)
you can see the rims are standard Alex DM24 (i think 32mm wide) & the tires are 2.5x16 running matching heavy 2.5 x 16 moped tubes

I so want to bring my 50cc 2 stroke stinker out to see how it compairs to the Cali-boys building skillz....need more time....never enough time!

LOL Dave,
that makes me 100% mutt!
I also thinks its exceptionaly funny that i am regarded more as an Ebike guy..I am a total ellectard in reality...its my motorcycle skillz along with an unhealthy curiosity that got me on the whole e-bike kick....I am kinda holding out on you guys with my 2-stroke build....but its a shaker & a mover!
(needs the head re-worked to get the compresion dialed & i have stock inbound to make a new crank that will give me a true 50cc)

I just have all this pressure on now to make an e-bike perform. I feel like I almost have too (setting the fastest lap in Touson didn't get me any respect) Etards bike ran a strong 2nd place in the 1st heat of the unlimited class at willow (maybe 3rd if a bike hadn't dnfed) & was running a respectiable 4th in the ultimate race when he sucked a rock & stopped rolling....did i ever post a link to his video of the heat race?
I really love all the gas bike builds & have a lot to show off in that regard.

After all is said & done I just love hanging out at the track & meeting all the like minded guys. Never met a racer I didn't like, or who wouldn't give you the shirt off their back if you really needed it.
World Class folk any way you look at them. Looking foward to meeting all you guy's at the track & re-meeting Scotto,Bairdco & a bunch of the other guy's I met in Tuscon. Its going to be a ripping good time..win lose or up in flames LOL!

If you lap the 2nd place 2 stroke Chinese kit bike you can run
your "tweeker" in the Unlimited Class. You also have to win the
Ultimate Race of all the classes.

Otherwise you are in the 2 stroke class only with your bike just
like everyone else.

The Unlimited class only has one entry so far which is AGK's
monster 4 stroke and maybe liveforphysic's with his over sized
electric motor if he shows up. There is limited track time and
this class won't be getting any heats and maybe only a 10 lap
race.

Neil, I have felt a grate disturbance in the "FORCE" are you and Steven up to something evil or have my meds not kicked in?
It's like 39 days and counting until GRANGE!!!!!!!

It is a fact that some MBs are more easy going pleasure rides and that is way cool !!!! and some are well,--- more aggressive in there intent this is a race after all--- BUT RULE (1) STATES have fun!! so to that ends I would like to put forth a thought- how about "we" (IE). Neil put the slower 2 stroke motored bikes in group (1) and the hopped up ones in group (2)-so the easy going people can have a more even race! it might be more fun for the two group if they are not running over or being ran over as much.
So Neil please fill free to disregard this idea I'm just throwing it out their as a random thought in hopes to encourage all MB hobbyist to come out to play it is a blast I'll see you in the pits!dance1

if that happened, you would eliminate some fast guys in group one, and cause some slow guys in group two to advance into the main.

you'd have a main with really fast guys mixing it up with the slower guys, which would be the same problem.

like you said, it is a race, and it is gonna be fun, but it's not a pleasure ride. if you have a slow bike, by all means, come out and ride, but be aware that there's gonna be people twice as fast as you, and act accordingly.

if you hear someone blazing up on you, move over, wave them by if you can, and try not to block the fastest lines on the track.

nothing bugs me more than getting stuck behind a slow guy, oblivious to other racers trying to pass, while other guys are gaining on me, or stopping me from catching up to someone.

fun's fun, but racing's racing.

Sorry Bairdco...its the truth...

Don't get too carried away with the high performance parts and
I wouldn't count on gearing for that 950' straight.

One of the few rules is no motors over 11 hp which means 11.9999 max.

The 2 fast Morini guys went home early and didn't race against you in
the Ultimate race of all the classes at Willow Springs.

Sorry, got lazy and didn't feel like digging up the "quote". Not too sorry Baird, but it IS the truth......4-STROKES gonna dominate and RULE! It's time you turn to the double side.....double the stroke, double the fun! Let's RACE!

they will never "dominate motorbicycle racing."

the cheap 2 stroke will always be the largest class due to it's simplicity and low cost, and the only time they'll race together is in the trophy dash.

the good thing about 4 strokes, though, is you can run your honda generator all day long in the pits, pressure washing people's bikes, then mount it back on your bikes and run a few laps.

maybe you could get a vaccuum attachment and street-sweep the track inbetween heats... :)
