You may want to reference AGK specs for setting up the Mikuni 22. I run Mikuni 22's on my 68 Yamaha 180cc twin cyl race bike. At sea level, I run 130 Mains and 12.5 pilot with Needle clip in center for a little more grunt at corner exits. Richer at lower RPM. A Mikuni 22 is just fine for the GX 200cc, great carby. Sounds like you got it good. Keep an eye on your plug, you might still be somewhat lean with a #40 drill size at full throttle. Cheers, mate
Thanks for the advice about your jet size for a 180cc engine. I've been increasing the jet size and inspecting the plug daily. I have it up to a 1.27mm now and it runs better than ever and the plug is the proper dark cream color. :)

oh yes I forgot....

since HF now has the predator 212 i am sure that is mostly the same, but has anyone checked it out?? i went to HF over the weekend for their parking lot sale, bought a sweet drill press. They had a few used greyhound 6.5's out there, but wanted 70 for them even on Sunday. I should have just made an offer, maybe I will this week. Since these engines are basically no longer in production, i would imagine they would start to become even more in demand.

What are your thoughts Cobra? Sorry to hijack your thread, but I seriously look to you as one of the pioneer for MB and these engines. You have contributed a ton to the cause brother!!

I think I should go over to HF and get a spare Greyhound this weekend. I think Clone 6.5hp engines will be around for a very long time. It's one of the main engines for Cart racing. The aftermarket is huge. HF may not have them anymore, but they will be around, but probably not for $70 anymore. I hear the average lifespan is over 10K miles on one of these and you can rebuild it 3 times as they have 3 sizes sizes of piston rings. We will have power for a long time.

I personally saw this bike in action and I say it is the baddest bike in Sacramento - to the best of my knowledge! I love it! I definitely plan on checking out the building process soon as I am positive I will learn a thing or two. Keep up the great work! I think one day a lot more people will have something like this in their garage. May even be cause enough for two bike lanes per direction! Save gas and be bad ass!

His road test of a James 500cc V twin is also great!
No twist grip throttle... it's got twin levers, one for fuel, the other for air.

Thanks. That was great! A funny thing that the man said about Women coming up and expressing their interest in the bike is larger than normal. This phenomena is exactly what I experience. Women freak out and I don't know why. Even on the you Youtube video's there is a high proportion of women that view the Indian bike videos world wide. I happily married now but I wish I would have known about this when I was single! Lol! :)

It was 100 degrees in Sacramento today and I am happy to report that my 12 mile return trip from work was fine. No overheating of any kind without the use of a fan shroud. Just running an aluminum flywheel with fan blades on it. I took my laser thermometer to the head and at the exhaust port I was getting 300 degrees, and the opposite side of the head with the fan blades on it I was getting 255 degrees. So this is proof, it works!

So I have been using automotive type LED turn signal bulbs for my headlamp and rear light since the inception of the Indian and they usually lasted for about four or five weeks before failing. I needed a better lighting system. I looked at all the bicycle forums and online bike part outlets for the best LED Dyno hub lighting system. One that works with 6 volts at 3 Watts. I found it. The Supernova E3 triple.

This thing rocks. It has 3 LED bulbs that are super bright. 33 lumens at 50 ft! When you start out one bulb lights, then when you hit 9 mph the other 2 illuminate. It has a matching tail light too. They all fit inside my existing lamps for a clean appearance. The lights contain "super capacitors" that will maintain high output luminance for ten seconds after you stop then it switches to low power mode and will stay lit for ten minutes after stopping. So you will still be seen when you stop! When I actually saw how bright this head lamp was, aircraft landing lights came into my mind. It will blind you. So idiots in cars will see me better. The cost is steep for this lamp. Shockingly high. So high I wont mention the price here. :O I was really uncomfortable paying so much for this light system, but after I seen it in action I know that I made the right decision. Works great.

After additional testing of this light I know that it has the ability to blind someone in daylight because it is so bright. This thing is a frakin torch.

Here is a picture from earlier this year. I was riding past Sacramento Harley Davidson which was having a charity BBQ with the Buffalo Soldiers M/C. I rode my bike in to check it out and they wanted me to pose for a few pictures with them. It was a lot of fun.

Thanks. It's easy to find me in the picture. I'm the one with the goggles.(LoL) I'm going to crash the Carmichael 4th of July parade on Monday. I know there is a group from the local Ford Model T club and they would probably let me "escort" them through the procession.
That engine looks exactly like mine before I took it apart. The $59 is a good price, but add the $34 shipping to it and it gets more expensive than what HF sold them for. I have not heard conclusively if the new HF replacement for the former "Greyhound" that they call the "Predator" is a true clone engine. You know, the ability to install all of the clone performance parts. I know the cam gear in the new engine is plastic. No big deal if you can swap to a performance clone cam which would replace the plastic gear anyhow.

Hi cobrafreak. Your bicycle looks, sounds and performs very well. Is that the parade on Sunrise Blvd., and didn't they just have a parade three days ago? Is it between 8:am and 12 noon? Thankyou cobrafreak.

No, this is the Carmichael 4th of July parade on Fair Oaks Blvd that is actually held on the 4th of July. It starts at Fair Oaks & Marconi and ends at cypress ave. Starts at 10:30 am.

Finished the exhaust! I used the Poo Poo muffler on some electrical conduit I bent. It works great. I cut the whole rear of the muffler off for flow and it is still reasonably quiet. I'm going riding this weekend! :D
Hey man,

What type of wheel are you running in the front? Is it a worksman with those fat frank tires? The clearance to the fork top looks really close, I see it on my bike too with the electra tires. I was wondering if you could take a measurement for me and let me know if you have ever experienced any issues with rubbing due to tire expansion or clearance issues...

If you are going by the posted picture, the reason the tire is close is because I welded it there. Remember, the fork does not move, it is rigid. It will never get closer. When I was running a spring front suspension I was getting a little rub on my frame, not fork, due to too much spring compression. I'm glad I run rigid now as it handled poor before and fantastic now. No rubbing of any kind, anywhere.

No, it is not Worksman. It is just my Sturmey/Archer Dynamo brake front hub, heavy duty SS spokes, and downhill racing rims.

Gotcha, just did not know if there was any flex in the fork when you hit bumps, if you say it is solid, i believe you. thanks for the super quick replay man, you da best!

Still waiting for the "photo shoot" of this beautiful bike with the new motor that it deserves. IMO you need (we'd like) more photos for us to salivate over please!!!!!! Your garage shots dont do it justice....
Here are some higher quality pictures. My new IPhone 4 takes much better pictures than my older Blackberry Storm.

Flywheel paint, Parade mode

I was playing around with colors and shading and came up with this scheme for the flywheel. I think it looks a little bit better than before.

Going in the Carmichael Elks Lodge 4th of July Parade tomorrow in full pomp and circumstance along with classic motorcycle wear. I will be riding with the local Model A Ford Club. Should be fun. I'll post pics and/or video
