Death Race = Open Class, run whatcha brung, it's a free for all, Outlaw, one big happy race. Whiner poor sport cry wah wah's stay home....where you belong.....Dave's got a title to defend, IF he chose's too.....it's supposed to be a free country, right? A fun race right? It's not sponsored by Budweiser.....it's a death race, not a professional candy-ass race.....right?

I'm thinkin' that the no internal tranny thing is of the motorcycle type like wet clutch, manual shifter's that we used to race Moto-Cross and such with. I'm sure your 2-speed electric bike will be fine Thud.

Dave, please don't get discouraged by the jealous hater's.....life's too short for that. Just race your SCSW's Morini and spank the panties off of them again and send em' home cryin' again if they can't take it.....honestly!

Don't mind me and my rant, just keep up the good work Dave, we all thank you for it!

Personally....I think we should forget about classes and moroni motors and concentrate on the more serious problem of no chicks from godaddys taking their clothes off.

YES......now this is a serious issue! What's it gonna take, 5 extra bux to the entry fee seems reasonable....laff

We do want a fun and exciting race with some nice scenery, don't we?

So mornins banned... tiz a shame they would of been the only hope of beating the electric 'brigade' rocking up with 20hp+ e- bikes LoL...

Dave, just wanted to offer my support and encouragement to run the morni as you have done previously, your not the only morini powered or 'worked' bike out there... ignore the emails Dave, they are just a bunch of whinging whining gurlz, all the best for a smoothly run event, honestly if i had the cash i would be loading myself and the bike on a plane to come meet you and the other level headed individuals at the death race. Make it piss Dave ;-)

#2) No "internaly" shifted transmisions means My 2 speed reduction box on the ellectric is illeagal?
(yes or no please Dave, I will make no argumnets)
I thought the no transmission meant no clutch operated trannys as this would be more motorcycle than bicycle.. your ThudSTaR  2 speed box has no clutch. If tannys aren't allowed would this also cover CVT some of you fellas use on the bikes? I think no clutch operated trannys i a good call...but that call is Dave's and either way the decision should be accepted by all..

We just dont need someone showing up with a 200cc 5 speed Honda and killing themselves.

Like I said before just use a little common sense these are bicycles after all. Foureasy runs around 7-8hp and I really dont want to see anything more then that. Death Race is suppose to mean The Death of your motor not the Death of you.

No clutched internal transmissions; that's a great rule, simple, effective, least restrictive!

Classes are a hassle. Sizes, weight, brand, type engine/motor, drive/ transmissions, ect. . . Folks want fun! To preserve fun, fewer simpler rules trumps, just so it's safe.

Leave prizes/trophys to all the sub groups. If e-bikers want to award themselves, super, no problem for the organizer, everyone runs against everyone. If a group wants to compete with each other, let 'em request to run in the same heat, boda boda bing, easy. Trikes, tandems, morini's, whizzers, electrics, they'll get separated before turn 3.

The Tucson Death Race, a fun event worth traveling across the country to be a part of!

dave, can you clarify the track time issue? just wondering if we have a half day of racing, but still allowed to hang out and BS, BBQ, whatever...

sounds like some people are coming from pretty far away. i'd hate to drive 8 hours, show up, race, then pack up and leave right away.

or maybe one of you arizona guys wanna organize an after party?

Track opens at 10am (check the web site to be sure I am right) so try and make it at 10am.

How it usually works is the supermotos will go out for like a 10min practice, then we go out for 10 min practice, then the supermotos again and so on.

Motos will have a heat race, then we will have a heat race...you get the picture.

But, like the October race there was suppose to be a supermoto race....but not one showed up so we had the track to ourselves. If thats the case and only a few supermotos show up we might be able to run classes.

Really our track time should be between 1-5pm, but yes we can be there all day to BS.

If you guys want to have a little after race party at a local pub that sounds like a great plan. I want to hear everyone's war stories lol.

If any locals have a suggestions on where to have it I would love to hear it. if not I can find a place thats closes to the track.

I'll never consider 1st place a real win, till I run against your morini Dave.

So let the morini's compete, and let the whiners shut the ---- up.

I do get it about limiting HP at some point, I plan on bringing about 3500 watts, so about 4 hp. Wait till you all see real electric race bikes this spring. Fast as I was last fall, I'm considered pretty lame on the endless-sphere.

Run them Morinis motors along with the bunch ...and I'll bet there's enouff to have their own class..... Would only take four or five?
What I'm reading in the Foreum - You're going to have way to many motorbikes to run all at the same time? So that means you can break em' down in classes - run heats - seperate out
we real slow people - run a final with everyone - break out the classes afterwards?
Believe me... If you need help - I'm a good volunteer. I'll help in any way you want me to...
And I'm betting there's many others too! -EZ

on a whim, i just googled "the Bashful Bandit." :)

i can't believe that place is still there. i think it was 1979 or 80, i used to live across the street, behind the weinerschnitzel and the abandoned desert wave skatepark. the regency apartments, i think they were called.

i still remember hearing gunshots come outta that place.

Mr. Hammond, I think us outta towner's should be asking you this question.....I'll ask my cuz Lisa, she might know. I'm thinkin not for some reason though.dnut
You're probably right, I don't drink and I don't hang out a parks so I don't have a clue. I suspect they probably don't allow it though. It might be possible to get a permit though.
