yup, they're pretty cool bikes. but to be honest, i'm not exactly stoked on the shape of the middle bar. it just doesn't flow that well with the rest of the frame.

oh, and i just found out mine's a 1952.
I have Identical frame including the springer fork stops on frame. How did you date your frame???

it's a bicycle again.

it's got NOS Wald cranks, which are great, 'cause you don't have to bend them for clearance, an NOS Wald 36t sprocket, NOS Wald gooseneck and those big handlebars i was talking about.

all the Wald parts are from the 70's, back when it was all made in america.

the seat is gonna get changed out for a new one, and i've gotta pinstripe and accent the fenders and chainguard still.

the tires are different, 'cause i wanted to figure out which looks better.

in my opinion, neither look good. i'm gonna buy some new creme coloured tires this weekend.

i don't like the bars, though. 'cause i'm not tall.

got the motor mounted today, new Innova 26x2.5 tires on, modified the chainguard to fit, and i'm still working on the fenders. got the copper and materials i need for a tank, so i'll be starting that soon, too.

here's a quick pic so far. it's got the normal cruiser bars on it now, new seat, and whatever else i forgot.

i got the tires from a local bikeshop, called Bicycle Discovery. it's the only bike shop i go to, if i can help it. it's not that they're motor-bike friendly, they're just friendly. they don't snub you for someone who looks like they have more money.

anyway, they were "take-offs," meaning someone didn't like the color and had them switched out. i dunno what kind of bike they came off of, but they must come stock on something.

almost got the bike done. i was hoping to be able to ride it to tomorrows Long Beach ride, but i need a few more things.

i use a brass threaded fitting for the gas bung that comes with a cap that's bigger than the garden hose style, and the place i get them from is closed on the weekends. i was thinking of just finding a rubber stopper or something temporarily, but there's a bunch of other little things left to do that ain't getting done today, so it looks like i'll be riding one of my other bikes.

here's some pics:

My compliments to you, sir. Another beautiful Bairdco bike. And the really nice thing is, between the white tires and the bright orange paint, if anybody hits it they'd look like a fool if they tried to say they didn't see it.
