Throttle return spring fails and I ride past my house at 3/4 throttle screaming "Ello" thinking it funny and unable to slow down. They waved as I passed. I waved back and aimed for a snow bank.
Hope your bike's okay! :D

Oh well, I was called bony macaroni, so I don't worry too much about weight jokes, all in fun.

re: throttle stuck.

Haven't you seen the Toyota PSA's? Ride the brake, turn the key, put it in neutral steer for safety! .duh.

There's a bike shop here in Denver that looks just like that...no kidding; I'm completely serious. Even the guy's basement is stuffed full of bicycles. Unfortunately, he doesn't like to sell anything. He wanted $175. for a stripped Schwinn frame. The back yard, which had no room for swimming pools had paths between hills of bikes. I should have taken a picture.

Is he Greek? Is it this same guy, about which I read an article recently; a Greek guy in the US who collected "vintage" bikes and would only sell them to "genuine people". His family was driven crazy by his obsession and refusal to sell enough bikes to make a proper living.

LOL HappyC. Thought you were about to launch into an ethnic joke.

"A Greek, a Rabbi and a giant ferret walk in to a local bike shop........

This is kinda amazing. So many folks hoarding bicycles. (and not sharing hard to find parts)

"This week on Hoarders..."

No kidding Dan. Years ago there was a guy in my neighborhood who advertised used bikes and parts, and I decided to pay him a visit for a few things I needed. The guy wanted unrealistic prices for his junk, and half of the bikes he had, he refused to sell. That guy was sitting on that stuff like Mother Goose!
Well, ya know, he couldn't really sell too many bikes off the pile, not without exposing where Jimmy Hoffa was buried.

Nah, it was a serious question. The article I mentioned was in Bicycling sometime back.

Different but entertaining article and photo
Landmark Vintage Bicycles - - East Village - New York Store & Shopping Guide
One man's junk is another man's treasure.
A man in NY sells "vintage" bikes for $200-800. Commenters argue over whether his "restored" bikes are garage sale clunkers or museum quality pieces.
