Wal-Mart bike

It's a common mod - but moving the carb away from the jug is just a way to change the powerband.

You can get a 90 degree angle pipe and attach it on, that won't lengthen it near as much.

You can also get an angled intake which is commonly sold at motored bike retailers.

Could i get my uncle to help me make one out of copper HVAC tubing and braze it onto the existing?

To make it look good you need to custom fit the cable housing. When you're routing it after it's custom fit, just make sure it is as smooth as possible without any hard angles that will restrict the cable from moving.

by custom fit you mean cutting the housing end that goes into the receiver on the clutch body.

got a question for you also

the clutch is really hard to push in with the lever
i am sure it's lubed up good because i checked it.

Are they just really hard to pull?

When brand new out of the box, yes. It can vary kit to kit, but as long as it functions properly, you have nothing to worry about. It will get easier as it breaks in.

Granted - like I said, be sure that there aren't any sharp turns in the cable, that will have the same effect.

Gotta say, that's the nicest Walmart bike I've seen yet. Great work, hope ya clean those cables up a bit more tho lol :p

I'm working on it right now lol

So much to do and i am killing myself trying to do it all in 1 night

The carb is coming back off tho till i get a proper coupling made

I've got new pictures for anyone to see

Shows Point of view shots when riding it and stuff.

Pedals fine with the engine on there. no rubbing at all and i didn't have to modify anything.

Also showing the new fuel line i bought. its heavy duty stuff
was 90 cents a foot at lowe's. highly recommended!!!

Also i found a nice way to setup my clutch and front brake parallel so it's easy and natural for me.

Picture included

Looks good! Don't let the carb extension deter you from firing it up by any means though - it will work, your powerband won't give you as much top end is all. :)

I cant fire it up yet
no chain hooked up(because i dont have a breaker tool)

and i dont have any 2 cycle oil
you got any suggestion what kind of oil to buy & where on earth i could get it?

I only have wal-mart and advanced auto near me and a motorcycle shop that sells yamalube 2 cycle oil.

For the break in just be sure not to run synthetic, after that synthetic blend mix is great. I personally steer clear of the wally world oil, I just don't trust it.

In my bike I run half masterpro synthetic and half pennzoil at 40:1 more often than not, but everyone is going to run something different. Some people swear by Opti - 2, some by Husquvarna and others by castor bean. I just try different stuff when I've got the chance - next on my list is Power Punch 2 cycle, Opti -2 and Chevron's 2 cycle (as there's a local shop that'll sell Chevron 2 cycle by the gallon).

I've heard mentioned what qualities of gas and oil are in china is very very low quality compared to what we get here, so that's something to think about.

Another tip you should consider heeding seriously is that the plugs and plug boots that come in the kits are serious junk... save yourself the headache now and go get a Bosch B6HS plug and a good silicone wire and boot and unscrew the existing wire and replace the plug now... Mine lasted all of 3 hours riding time before failing.

My kit from piston bikes came with nice spark plugs and upgraded stuff

2x exhaust gaskets
a head gasket
2x spark plugs
2x spark plug boots
new CDI from grubee (the new version)
almost all of the parts are the new revision. the engine was made last month in 2011.
it has the EPA exhaust

alot of extra parts

i was very pleased with the quality of the kit

also does anyone know how hot the exhaust manifold gets under normal operating temps?

thanks

Dude if you persist in the attitude that others here know nothing you are going to find that you will get less and less help... You posted an image of the CDI it has a problematic spark plug boot... Just search CDI issues or ask others.... The China plugs also are junk despite your assertions otherwise.... Despite your beliefs you have a 2010 kit there kiddo no supplier I know of is even selling 2011 stock yet and you couldn't have been shipped a kit made last month under any circumstances.

Hot enough to burn through shoe soles, jeans, and give you serious burns.

No i need to know the temperature because i am brazing up a manifold for the carburetor to attach to
It will be connecting to the manifold and carb just like the radiator kits.
