This site has already grown too big! :p

Someone posted the perfect list of what is needed to be replaced/done to the CG/HT engine kits.....and I've been searching and I can't find it. It was by one of the enlightened power guru's. When I read it - it caused near nirvana om state.

    Mission: Find that thread!(^)

    Thanks in advance,

    P

Are you talking about the guy who posted about all the million things to do to make one like a Japanese engine?

Wow don't remember who/where that was....I'll keep an eye out.

It comes and goes. I got a copy now.....I'm taking back the "perfect" comment. It's a pretty good list, but it has a few funky things on it. I pasted in in my Writer program and will clean it up tomorrow AM or so. I will repost in a PC/politic free way.

The new/borrowed/plagarized/cleaned up list. Please POLITELY comment and we can come up with an even better list. This IS Skyliner70cc's list, I just made it more palatable:

I don't know boys that list has more change this and change that on it than I'm willing to do or wanting to do or need to do. I don't change any bolts, nuts, washers, cables, plugwire and boot and loctite only a few nuts. Being over heavy on tightning things will make any connector fail and pulling off the head will darn sure give you a leaking head unless you have a replacement headgasket. Most of the gaskets are of poor quality but will work I will make patterns out new unused china gaskets and use my home made ones but. but I think use what ya got before you reinvent the kit. The kill switches have never gave me any trouble and I did replace the stock wire connectors as they are not the best, but gee Wally all those parts that they send with the engine kits whats a guy to do with them?
I don't agreee with this list but that is my 2-cents.
If I was a neebie I'd not want to buy one of these for fear it would self destruct after reading that list.

Norman - Believe it or not I agree with you for the most part. I think if I were to actually publish this list I would put a healthy header intro - and would break it into 3 or so sections. A short "must do", a "good to do" and a "for total reliability nuts" section. For example, I even deleted a few (drilling holes in stuff) already and the whole double side tape thing seems a bit over the top....

yeah, don't think I'm going to actually use everything on this list.
there are some things on there I cannot do atm, some things I will never do, others I will do in the future as money becomes more readily available, but there are some things on there that are good things to do when first installing a motor on a bike.
I am going to try and do a video on my install. This time will be the second time I have been involved in an install, the first time on my bike. So I'm still a newb at it. ;) I will try to make mention of the things on the list that I am doing and the things that I will do in the future.

All in all, this list has some good points in it and that was the reason I really wanted to see it again. (got it saved as .txt file now;))
