Sportsman Racer Latest Photos

Here is the latest Sportsman Racer. I really didn't think chrome wheels would look good on a boardie, but I guess I was wrong. The Worksman wheels have a kind of satin chrome, not a real high polish, so it is a toned down chrome look.

SO, so hot :D VERY HOT I love how simple and elegant the design is! two thumbs up! If I had the money, my garage would have an scsw boxer and a sportsman racer
 
Do ya think I can get one of those Pat....I will trade my complete Dyno Fleet for one...lol and give you the bike after I win the death race also...Ha Ha

That bike is sooooo nice. One day I will have to have one...

I have to play it cool on answering questions as to cost. Forum rules require those questions to be handled in the swap and shop section or through emails. As for any special features at this point it is hard to say. I'll be happy just to have a completely stock yet running Sportsman Racer. I need to do some long term durability studies! I have a WZ Flyer in the shop right now also that I plan to keep. The Racer will be a boardie. I hope to give the Whizzer version the full cruiser treatment.

I need start a fresh thread as I have a lot of cool builds going on right now. Here is a beautiful Indian Red Sportsman Racer. I need to get it outside for better photos. I used Brooks handlebar wrap and covered the seat pan with leather. This one gets the full treatment.

Pat, it would amaze me if anyone could make a more crudely-built bike ;) Really, whenever I see your work, I'm shocked, I feel like some of the really skilled guys here need a biography section added for them on the forum. Incredibly beautiful work!!!! I can imagine american pickers in 2120 saying, "oh, the sportsman racers are very rare but built really well" Just imagine your bikes as barn finds! :D

That is a totally cool thought. I should try to build one up with a "distressed finish" to give it a true barn find look. When time permits I plan to build one up as just a pedal bike with Nexus rear hub, and I still get requests for a 110cc Lifan version. I already have it drawn up as a 5" stretch and it works on paper.

I never power them up, I just sit around and stare at them! Seriously, though, this bike is still in assembly and I needed to give it the pedal test so I wrapped the bars so I could hang on. It will get finished over the next couple weeks. I have a nice little hill out in front of my shop so I was coasting this thing all over last night. The 4" stretch on these frames makes for a nice, smooth handling machine. I had a grin from ear to ear. Can't wait to twist the soon to be added throttle and run it on up to 50 mph!
